No Rod, the D Max has the 3 liter, turbo diesel, the Colorado has 2.8 liter also turboed, both Intercooled.. :)
The Colorado diesel is an untried engine in Australia  , from what I have found out, the D Max engine is the same as in their 2.5 tonne light truck, very much modified to improve performance and economy, goes very well and rides well, they only need to quiten down the induction noise a little, which will make it a very quiet vehicle.

The sort of figures you Guys and Gals might be interested in for the first trip to Sydney, new car, reasonably stiff being new.
13.7 klms per litre was returned by MAX, that calculates in the old MPG terms to 38.7 MPG, even better than I can achieve from the GT.
Remember Max IS AN AUTO!!
With a bit of loosening up that figure will improve, MAX was driven at road legal speeds, not just cruising at 80 klms/hr, 110 klms/hr down the M4, more than happy with that so far!! :D
At 110 klms/hr the tacho is ticking over at 1950 revs, very easy.
Dave.

Dave,

does the dashboard setup let you change the readout to litres / 100km instead ?

Last trip for the AVan to the dealer before pick up if the new van in November, MAX hardly knew it had the van on the back, I literally had to be careful with the speed, MAX pulled it so easily.

Bigger Glenn full height and 21', separate shower, vanity, toilet which can be shut off from the rest of the van.
Only weighs in at about 5oo kgs more than the Avan, the Sante Fe can not tow 2'5 tonne only 2 tonne, that is why we had to upgrade the tow vehicle. The new van will gross out at 2.55 tonne, MAX is allowed to tow 3'0'tonne.

Well here they are together, the OLD and the NEW
I hope I never come to grief on the road with a D Max driving my GT, YUK, the top of the wheel of the D Max is almost as high as the top of the bonnet of the GT
I might be able to check the tyre pressure for the D Max at a red light :!: 8-)

That is a good question Rod! ;)
Equally I think, as they are for totally different purposes, actually I am an "ISUZU TRAGIC", I like all Isuzu products!

I would not like anything to happen to either vehicle, it is a pity, they, like all vehicles, wear and weather, looking after them is my hobby!
If I could convince my wife to drive Max I would take both to Merimbula 8-) , BUT that will never happen!! :(
