Once upon a time ( 30 yrs ago !! ) I bought a Wasp . I'd never seen one before . It was one of 2 in Tyabb
then they moved to Stawell ( & one disappeared ) I picked it up & stored it at work = when I left there it was stored in my backyard . Many years later Vanita wanted to plant a garden in yhe tub - it was full of old leaves/mulch . Something had to be done to it , so into the garage it went . I just wish I had more time to work on it as everything needs attention .
Soi far - cab off - floor replaced
sills replaced
roof off & A pillars replaced
various other rust repairs
in primer awaiting final coat
chassis - stripped & repainted
suspension- " "
tub floor cut out & new one fabricated
currently stripping rust & repairing everything else
I started to try an Elf 2 l;tr motor for size - didn't fit so it's staying original
.

The basic idea is to have the only original looking Wasp - it was going to be a "hotty " but Brett Lizzy Oka & others have done that . After painting it ( who knows when ) the next big expense is a rebuilt motor - any
volunteers to push me ??

Now that is major work! I too am glad you are going the originality road, it will be good to see a fine example with there being so few. Modifieds are all good too, and I well understand the desire to gear them up a bit. They do excersize your patience.
It will be good to see her develop, thanks for showing us.
Cheers, Matt.

Happy new year - I took a bit of time off & spent it in the garage . Tub is now rubbed back , rust repaired in taillight panel , 4litres of bog ( most now on the ground ! ) & lots of hitting it ! The main section of new floor
is now welded in - the four bits either side of the wheelarch are yet to be cut to size .

Next job is the tailgate - I've decided that a new skin is required - & relatively easy to get done . Then I have to find my paint chart - I had it 2 years ago when I got 1 ltr of Wasp Blue & now I can't find it !! I expecy it is safe - somewhere .
I didn't know the tubs were numbered - I found this brass plaque .

TEN OUT OF TEN for courage on that one!!

When you've finished and still feel like another, Farmer can tell you where to find it in Northern Tas.

Looking great Craig. I remember it sitting in your back yard.... big change.

If I can help out at any time, just yell....... or ring. I'm really interested to know why the Elf motor won't fit.

That is one nice job mate, you are going to have a great result. Stylesides are so rare, and so cool.

Hello all ! I have had a productive couple of weeks in my garage . I always get a good feeling when the end is in sight . The wasp is painted , engine & gearbox is in , wiring going in now , grill & rims sandblasted & painted , dashboard cover stolen from wrecked rally car & lots of cleaning , polishing & painting . The worst & most time consuming job is trying to find things I removed 10-15 years ago .

Next big expense will be interior . Bench seat , door panels etc . I had to get a new hand brake cable made - this one was seized . Thank ( insert your prefered deity here ) there are people who do that sort of thing in Melb . Two handbrake cables for Gemini & one for wasp - good value at $300.00 the lot & pick up next day . Big rap for Retro spares/Auto cables in Eltham .
