I questioned Brett on this subject the other day :?:
Stickman asked for a photo of the little ruff er gt :?: he has seen it and knows btw there is no icon for the one finger.
Well there is a little history for this one it spent the first couple of years as a rally car in New Guinea before landing here in aus. It was bought in by a pilot and soon become a family member and a few years later the family grew and this one had to leave. Now don't ask what is more important a gt or a sister :?: as i might struggle to answer this one as i like her but i luv my cars  I think she will understand if she reads this. Ol yella was sold to a guy named Bob who loved it so much he would not part with it after 15 years of ownership, although the car was in a run down condition Bob still drove it from far north qld to Brisbane on a regular basis. Bob was asked if it was to be sold if we could have it back. One morning we get a phone call to say that the car was written off it was hit up the rear by a hq holden with the driver of the holden had gone to sleep on the bruce highway and pushed it down the nature strip across the southbound lane causing front end damage and the rear was pushed back to the back window and if we wanted it we could pay the tow fees.
When it returned home it was put in a container out of the weather where it sat for 8 years and about 10 years ago we started a cut and shut with a sedan rear end. It was then put away again and over the years was raped for parts but always left complete with the old bits put back on. A few years back i bought the convertable in toowoomba that was rusted out but was complete giving us the bits to repair it.
Now comes the sick bit, I have only been to SA once that was when i was around 4 years old it was in a yellow gt and with the 2013 nats being held there i thought it would be nostalgic to return some 40 years after in the same car.
This could mean 2 things 1 i have a problem or 2 my family is that poor we still need to get around in the same car we had 40years ago

Now that's the kind of story I like to read! Old Yella will be re-born!
And what better goal than the S.A. re-visit?

Fantastic Greg, you are tireless!
Please show-as-you-go.

(And to answer the question: While you're young & fit & able, why would'nt ya??)

Cheers, Matt.

Good luck GT - It looks like a good place to start.

At the end of it all you will be so very proud "you did it".

Looking forward to the build photos.

Hey Brett, had a car like that once, would go from A to B and B to A and sometimes you had to kick the B in the A.

The only real regret with this GT is we sacraficed a realy nice BLUE sedan :( to get the rear end, that was about 10 years ago, and at that time no real value in a sedan. one conselation is that it became a real good donor car. not much left now, :(
At the same time we had a PR90 that Greg had great expectations of repairing one day, but when looking for something one day, was decided to shift it, and bugger me if it didn't fall in half.
I think I saw it the other day disguised as a brand new bonnett on a Hyundai. :o

WOW! (as I pick my bottom jaw off the floor)

Now that is inpirational
I've seen Ol Yella before he headed off to the panel shop but seeing the before photos really puts into perspective.

Damn fine work!

Ol yella is almost done and due home in a couple of weeks. It will run a 1800 twin cam and a 5 speed with twin webers. with 70% of the parts done i hope to get this car back together in a month or so on it's return. I have the engine almost ready to go in and another 2 steering wheel resto well under way with this one being the later type. This car is not getting as much attention as the other two gt's got as i will drive this one a bit. I got some more powdercoating done the other day and spent 4 hours today sanding it off .
