Not perfect but a huge improvement. The one with the big holes is returned now to the Spare Sport (which has been handy)

Yep, nice job mate, many a shelf has huge holes. The only other choice is to fit huge speakers!
I'm waiting for someone to invent a small amp that accepts an ipod and hides away, leaving the original radio for show.Step up from the ipod dock on the back seat.
Wanna see this car in the metal one day!

Cheers, Matt.

Nice looking Job on the parcel shelf Glenn. You've been busy doing lots of things to the "Sport".
I read your list a few pages back - interesting they had SU' s not Hitachi carbs as I've had to modify a Gt manifold which took Hitachis to take the SU's.

Are you running points or an electronic conversion in your dizzy?

YP

I made a new rear shelf for the GT, covered it with the original vinyl the 2 holes you had in the rear shelf I found another second GT speaker grille and put over the second speaker hole. It looks very neat, I will take more photos as I can not find the first photos I took.
I may have sent them to you, I will do it again and post for you tomorrow, and Yellow Peril.
At least I was happy with it!! LOL.
I found the photo, here you go.

yes, slowly tidying it up.
No the carbs are not genuine SU's. But the guy who tuned it, fitted some SU parts to them.

In the past though, i changed Hitachi carbs to genuine SU's on a DOHC motor. Just a clean swap. Slightl fiddle with linkage sonly.

Now i remember. I think i gave you a spare parcel shelf as i had the same intention when i had the car, to make a shelf with two GT speaker grilles.

a photo would refresh the memory cells though !

excellent Dave.
I contemplated doing the same on the Sport also. Cutting out the grille from the parcel shelf with the big holes and carefully grafting it into the better one i fitted. Trouble is, there's little point as i am using the original AM radio for now. :)
