I was quite happy with my purchase of the Bellett GT last year, so I probably shouldn't have been looking at Gumtree...

File comment: Rose (pictured - previous owner) learned to drive in the Mazda and was used for occasional transport until the tranny died in 1975...hasn't moved since. Rose is 150cm...I'm 183cm.

File comment: Overkill...anything bigger than a 6 x 4 trailer. Door to door delivery from Perth to Adelaide was probably the fastest the little chap had ever travelled.

File comment: Cleaned, two rat's nests and a ton of random car parts later...just about to go to sleep in my garage for a few years until I get time to work on it!

The fella I bought my first 2 Bellett's of has 2 of these punnie Mazda coupes and I believe he still has them.
He also picked up a couple of pallet loads of NOS parts for them from a Mazda dealers clean out the old stock make me an offer sale. His name is Jonathan Barr and he's a member of the 7 of Clubs (Mazda car club of QLD) I believe there are picks of one of them in an events thread for QLD All Jap Day. He also used to publish a Jap Car periodical magazine. He'd be worth tracking down for a chat to when you start your resto.

I know Jon pretty well, he has 2 x R360's and 4 x Carol 600's (2 door sedans), plus a stack of 3 wheel Mazda trucks...he's right into it. I nearly purchased 2 x Carol's from him several years back, but couldn't find decent priced interstate transport.

As of today, I now have 2 of these beasties as well!

Very nice indeed, good find.

So, is there a tour of your garage planned for Nationals week??
Go ooon.........

 What about a dot-to-dot of Bellett owners/ S.A. sheds?? Now I'm talkin'!

Cheers, Matt.

You'd be more than welcome Matt! Unfortunately though, I'm (a) miles away from any of the planned National activities, and (b) the shed's pretty small and full of broken old cars. Oz's shed is a bit of a Isuzu wonderland though. :)

On the subject of R360's, I've since found someone in Melbourne who's recently purchase 4 project cars! We're comparing notes on spares but it will be some time before I restore mine...he's keen on them as well, so given my fluctuating financial situation, it might be prudent to flip the little buggers. We'll see...I didn't make such a rash purchase with anything sensible like 'profit' in mind, so it's a strange concept to get my head around.

Ahh, so you live out of town a bit. No worries, but I love sheds with broken old cars.

Maybe the monday run could be a garage crawl?

If the flip is on, you'll put it here first, right?
Here is one that gets to Motorfest in Sydney.........
