Oh hey guys,

I've been meaning to check the forum about this cruise for like, FOREVER!

I'm in Claws AND I will bring your grille!

GToo, I will bring your water bottle back!

We should hit up a local establishment for lunch before heading back to Adelaide; that's if you guys are all keen.

On that note, like last time I'm actually staying in Clare for the night; my wife will be up on Saturday with the little one, so I won't be on the return trip.

At least I'm doing better than Duane WHO IS NOT COMING AT ALL.

I'm starting to believe he's a fictional character!

Actually Duane, just PLEASE come on the Bay to Birdwood; it will be rad!

Cheers guys,

Dave

:) Sorry Dave, I am super keen to catch up with all you guys but today was unavoidable I'm afraid.

I've registered for the All Jap Day and will register for the B2B as soon as its open...hopefully the little guy keeps on going that long! I've been super impressed with the little chap, he's tired, but just keeps going...45 year old cars just aren't supposed to be flogged around town on a daily basis. That's why I took some interest in that AMC Gremlin! 8-)

Anyways...how'd y'all go today?

Cheers,
Duane

OZ......two words.......Bellett Magic 8-) 8-)

Claws......much thanks again to you and you lovely wife for putting on a great feed to start the day.

It was a tough drive for our Belletts, as the roads out that way are pretty rough in places and the trip back had a stiff cross wind to contend with. Josh, that spunky little auto of yours never ceases to amaze me.

Great pub meal around the table with fun company, AWESOME day.

B. 8-)

It was a great day, A BIG thanks to claws for the awesome breakfast! I was happy to be able to perch myself in pa_mans bellett for the ride.

I think the pr90 claws picked up although fairly bare with a solid axle front! is a great blank canvas to start with.

the trip back was great and the sounds of the bellett lulled me to sleep for a while!

Cant wait to catch up with everyone again

Yeah me too guys - much thanks to Claws and co for breakfast.

Slight problem tho - am writing this from side of the road near Penwortham.

GTR has broken down. Appears fuel pump has failed.

In laws have collected Sarah and Joseph and . They were coming to Adelaide tomorrow anyway so they've just rearranged their trip.

Am waiting for RAA Plus tow back to Adelaide. Will then suss out what pump to get!!

Go electric Dave if it isn't electric already!! MUCH more reliable. :P
What a great look at Belletts again!! 8-)

Hey Guys do you know of anywhere we can get the bonnet wedges please?
We have 2 cars up here that require bonnet wedges ;)

if there was a few new ones somewhere and i could borrow them, i could probably make up a twin mold to pour a few of them and keep us in the parts we need.
The steering racks and sway bar rubbers are doing well on the cars that are wearing them.
Duane GT is a testament to that.

Waiting to test tthe internal Timing Chain Tensioner. Probably do the one in the Auto as i noticed it varying a bit when doing the timimg adjustment! Once it is tested and i am happy with its performance, it will start to sell them to the unwashed populas.

cheers

Hey Dave, this is a factory-fit electric pump I'm fairly certain. <EDIT: Yeah, nah this is not a factory fit item...>

Conversely, I've never had any problems with the vintage mechanical items!

Got home eventually - RAA Plus sent a tow truck up from Adelaide. An Isuzu item, of course!

OK, we have had a few of the mechanical ones fail up here recently, age I would suggest.
As long you get the right pressure pump you should not have a problem finding a replacement.

Pulled the fuel pump; yeah, nah not a factory fit item... actually not even an Isuzu item! Was Mitsubishi!

I would have thought the old GTR's needed an electric pump to feed those carbies at 7000 rpm but I've since learned that the mechanical items did the job apparently.

Having said that, someone at some stage has blanked mine off and fitted the electric pump.

Once home, me and the father-in-law Bob pulled it and Bob found a little thingo had jumped off another thingo. Snapped it back into place and voila.

Hmmmm if it did it once it could do it again. Might take the car on a test drive to the SMASA show and shine tomorrow (working there; can park car next to tent and show them that not all cool cars are VH Commodores with 383 strokers in them) and see how it goes.

Will organise a new pump mounted next to the tank and then once it's in and connected can do a simple re-plumb on the pair of them (old out, new in) and hopefully never have the problem again!

Cheers,

Dave

I like the mechanical pumps because they don't tick...tick...tick...all the time. Just keep a spare one in the boot!
But there is the advantage of priming without winding if you run out of fuel.
Done that TOOO many times in my life.

Thanks for the pics. It's nice to see the PR90 on the road back to the road. 8-)

Cheers, Matt.
