Great "turn out" . The Hako and the Silvia are nice.

Isuzu seem to have a strong presence - incl. the USA version (looks good Dave ) ... keep it up.

Agree with you KB

They were beautiful cars

gotta say the Datsun 1600's had a good turn out and they were all pretty immaculate, was nice to see at least one with the old l series engine in it and one with the vg30 turbo v6, unfortunately the rest all seem to have sr20's which disappoints me a little, but at least they all looked the part! was good to see all the Isuzu guys again and catch up, also nice to see the Geminis all together at the show, best turn out I have seen for them yet!

Must be plenty of width in that engine bay... did you get closer shot of the VG30 engine ?
Dat 1600's were a very popular car in their time and for a long time later of course. Good to see some of them, likewise the Belletts and Isuzu's.

Sorry Glenn

I don't have another shot of the v6 Dato Engine Bay but hopefully someone else has one to post

I have had the aerial shot from last year as my Wallpaper and there would have been twice that number this year

Finish time was 3 pm, some started leaving earlier but we couldn't get out until 4:30 - 5 pm

Great Day lots of 240 Z's including Ross's (unfortunately I have no image) Lots of newer stuff, 300 rear wheel kW (supposedly)

Looking forward to next year and hopefully more Bellett's

Cheers
Flying

Hey guys,

Been meaning to flick some pics up; glad some other guys did too!

I was going to just put my Isuzu pics up...then I decided to put some of my other pics up too; for the rare/weird/awesome stuff. Then I found more Isuzu pics.... the list goes on.

Ethan Cowley put together a 40th Anniversary Cruise for the Gemini, but unfortunately it came on the same day as AJD! So after some negotiation, it was agreed we would hold the celebration at the show. There wasn't a massive turnout; for example, the guys in Perth held a dyno day and got about 30 Geminis there!

Ethan's little Diesel is in original condition; check it out.

There was a nice little TE auto parked next door, too.

We had three wagons and/or vans together, which was great.

This guy's wagon had just under 50,000k's from new and was a one-owner car!

Plus there was this hottie van:

And I got my van out for the first time in five years! I drove it about 10 times, five years ago, then previously it was sleeping for five years before that, so really it's been out of action for about 10 years!

My Buick Opel by Isuzu is now running and registered too, so I got the pair of them there (thanks to former Gemini van owner, Scott).

Bruno was representing hardcore; someone got a spare 2013 Bellett Nationals shirt? His is REALLY starting to fade! His lovely wife Liz came along too and was heroic in her resistance to Isuzu-related conversation spousal boredom!

...and was fortuitously parked next to it's brother, the Isuzu Florian ute aka Chevy LUV! First time I've seen a Florian and a LUV next to each other; note the doors!

I didn't find anything online querying the legitimacy of the LUV's inclusion, but I certainly did from some Gemini haters; one guy with an R33 at the show was quite vocal online as to why the Australian Holden was allowed in the show. Seriously, with imported engines and gearboxes, I'd say the AMI-built Toyotas had more local content than the Gemini! So, er, ban them too? And the Clayton-built Datsuns?

Yeah. Thought so.

On that note, here's one with even less Holden; a minty TX sedan with classic chrome steelies...and an SR20! This guy had been done DUI and had a breatho interlock fitted! He said he liked driving it the most, so it may as well be fitted to this car!

Jason Ward, the guy who is slowly but surely trying to get Adelaide classic Jap owners to unite, brought his JDM-inspired Chrysler Galant coupe to the show, despite losing one of his best mates to a sudden fatal incident only a day or so beforehand.

...but their cars were deeply ensconced in Datsun City. Ross snuck into the 240Z area with this, uh, 240Z.

I'm a sucker for 'shakotan'-style Japanese modifications. These pipes were functional, although given how long it took him to crank it, the car itself barely was.

I love this show; it's just a pity we only got seven Geminis to what should have been a massive celebration...but we did get 14 Isuzus to the show and parked nearby to each other (15 if you count the SR20 Gemini sedan parked away) which was great...five of them were mine! So thanks to George (Flying), Scott (Gemini guy) and non-Isuzu guys, Andrew and Apu, for helping get them there!

Cheers,

Dave
