On the 10th to 13th June is the long weekend to celebrate the life of Henry Lawson.
On Saturday 11th we will be taking part in the Street Parade in Gulgong and afterwards in the Mayne Street Car Show. The Parade starts at 1230 PM in Gulgong.
We will gather at the Parade assembly point or at Dave Maurices Home at 1100 AM. Phone Dave to advise your time of arrival, 0412600469.
The afternoon will be free and we will have a dinner at a site to be decided and advised at a later time.
Breakfast on Sunday morning will be at a site to be decided and advised, after which we will have a very easy Observation run/tour to finish at a location for lunch and to announce the result of the Observation run.

Please advise numbers so bookings can be made for the meals. ;)

Don't forget to book your accommodation :o as it is a busy weekend in the region and the 3500 beds available in the area will book out early. The region has 4 Caravan Parks with cabins along with Motels and B&B's.
Last year we had 8 cars take part in the weekend and 3 modern cars, join in the fun  , however let us know of your intention to come along so we can organise the numbers booking for the Saturday night dinner and the Sunday morning Breakfast.
A great social weekend!!!

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!

Sorry I've been so slow to reply. Funds have been tight & we were not sure if we will be coming. Tracy is also flat out with school reports & so won't be coming, but I'm keen to visit Dennis & so will probably come with one of the kids. So please book for 2. Thanks!
I will check with Gary C. and let you know.
Cheers and Thanks Dave. ;)

that mid-nsw country region is the best for touring and back yard car spotting.
We travelled thru not far from there when i picked up my Wasp from Bearbung.
It is my pick of AUS if i was given a choice on where i would want to live.

in fact Parkes or Forbes would be great for a Bellett National...

You guys have wonderful countryside there :)

Thank you Matt, we will cater for 2, if we can do anythng let me know, I guess you will be staying with Denis? I will be careful where we have our meals.
You have a great observer in Reece if you take part in the Observation run on Sunday!!
Will be great to catch up again.
I hope Denis has his car back together by then?

Oz, thank you we like it, my wife and I have been living there for 6 1/2 years now and enjoy the country living, my only problem is my job is in Sydney, so I do not see much of it!!
Where is BEARBUNG, never heard of it, I travel NSW in my job nd don't ever remember passing through it??
If you pass through again, give me a call, 0412600469.

Hi again Dave, I spoke to Gary Carter this morning. He is recovering (well) from Hernia surgery a.t.m. & so isn't planning to come up. He may go to Grenfell (closer)as they also have a Lawson festival, if he's up to it.
Cheers & look forward to catching up.
Matt.

Matt,
Wish Gary all the best from all of us please??
In passing one of my suggestions for next year is to make the Grenfell end of HLF a Club Event!!
What do you think? A lot closer for you and I think we would gain some support.
I think we need to have something closer to you Guys as you are always willing to attend Events and usually travel more than others, Canberra is another suggestion, I would also like to attend the Elvis Festival in Parkes, how about that one??
Catch up soon, make sure you bring that great little navigator you have!!
D.

You might get Davo (Bullitt) to Parkes!!
But yeah I was foing to suggest Grenfell for next year. They actually have a show & judging. They brought a flyer to the Boorowa show & shine- must scan it. Trophies for 7 categories incl. JAPANESE 1931-1975. Also best Club & People's choice. There is also a Chrysler museum in town & a large & active club.
See you soon!
Matt.

Great Matt, that information makes it even more appealing I think?
I will put it up at the next meeting, sounds like you will support that idea!!
Yeah if we go with Parkes I will put it up on the Net for all to see, would be good to see Davo!!

With 2 weeks to go Guys I am trying to get some numbers together for Saturday night and Sunday.
So far I believe we have about 20 people and 6 Belletts coming along, how many more of you are interested and will becoming please?
Pierce Snr? Dave G? or anyone who has not been before please let me know so I can start making a booking, the long weekend in Gulgong/Mudgee can be booked out quickly.
Dave M. 0412600469.

Thanks Vic, leaving 6am for a 4 1/2 hour drive. Should allow time for an interesting observational stop in Molong.
Spent the day fixing those niggly things. Tuned, polished & tested. Camera packed & good to go.
Cheers, Matt.

Thank you Matthew, Gary, Monica for covering those long distances to come along, I trust you enjoyed yourselves.
Thank you also to Tom and Julie, Warren and Karen for coming up from Sydney, hope you all have a safe trip home.
With our Isuzu Car Club magnetic signs on the sides of each car, the organisers and the public sure knew were there, it was pity that some local Club members had acted very irresponsibly, by doing burn outs in the middle of the parade, would have only taken a broken axle or throttle to stick and it could well have ended up in a disaster of large propertions. The crowd during the parade are very close to the cars, thankfully nothing did happen to spoil the day.

Thanks again Guys and Gals, now lets decide what to do next year!!
Would we gain more participants if we went to Grenfell where HENRY LAWSON was born??
Dave M.

Yes Matt you are absolutely right, no competition or competing just simple social locations driving our cars and a great weekend, no one competing with the other, total relaxation and enjoyment!!!
In the middle of that plenty of picture taking opportunities!! Plenty of talking Belletts, Wasp's and Isuzu vehicles as a whole!!
Dave.
