Another year has almost past for this Event.
This is a truly GREAT Event, if you can make it, it is well worth the effort! This year we will be there again with some different cars and hopefully more of them. With our Entry during the day we will get to do a couple of laps of the Eastern Creek circuit.
Besides our cars there are many more to look at on the Saturday 20th August and on Sunday 21st August they have races for the older cars. It is estimated that 1500 to 2000 cars are normally on display.
In the pit area are trade stalls, also memorabilia stalls, at the 2009 event one of our members picked up an original Bellett Car Club grille badge for $5-00 in very good condition.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!!
Dave M.

Sorry Guy and Gals, a correction, the date of the Car Show is Sunday not Saturday as I stated above!!
It is many years since I went to this Event and they may have changed the program around, the Event is on over the weekend, however the Car Show is Sunday 21st August!
On the Saturday they have races for Classics etc.

Thanks Dave, diary entry amended.
I'm booked, so all being well I'll be there.
Gary tells me last year I missed a top day, so WHO ELSE IS COMING?
More the bester!
Cheers, Matt.

Matt,
I believe we have 7 cars going this year, don't know exactly who, but yes, it is a great day.
Will be good again to catch up, make certain you bring your camera, there will be a lot of opportunities for photos!!

Well 1 week to go to a great Event!

Unfortunately I have had to pull the pin on this Event, DAMN IT ALL!!
However family must come first, hopefully I will get a replacement this week!

If you have the time go to Eastern Creek for a great day of car perving and entertainment!
See you at the National, that I know, unless the world comes to an end!!! ;),

Well, it's been, and I took the camera. ;)
You did miss a nice day Dave, but as you've been before, then at least you know the experience. Your entry was taken by Gary's son-in-law in one of his sedans, who had a great day. He may even now be a prospective Bellett buyer!
Here are our attendees........

The line-up.

GREAT series of photos Matt, thank you.
Thank you to Gary C and to Zac for being replacements, no doubt they had a ball??
No one regrets more than I, that I could not get there, bloody annoying in fact!!

How did the 117 go around the track??
It is no doubt one of the best, if not the best Event I have been to, certainly on par with Motofest which is always my favourite Event for the last 16 years. The feature is that you get to driver the cars around the track, yes behind a Pace Car, however how many race Tracks do you get to driver around, Hhmm???

We went out in front of some classic Dodges & Valiants (Chargers & stuff). The pace car allowed some pace, and the go was to let it get away a bit then hook in.
It was great to have Jack (86) in front of us with his grandson at the wheel. There were some black choofs when he brought out the stick, and Gary stayed within a couple of car lengths the whole time. The 117 has Koni adjustables set to 'hard' & sat really flat, more than the GT anyway. Down the straight we had the speed chime going (comes on at 105k's), and Gary's grin just kept getting wider! :D
Jack climbed out with a similar grin, and Jessie I think has found a new apreciation of the G.T.

From the passenger seat it was nice to follow a string of Belletts on a track. Nice view!

Tom sent Julie out so he could get some video, so there should be some good footage. He later said "The number of people who asked, 'What is that red thing?', was unreal!"

Suffice to say Gary C is very happy with his purchase. ;)
Cheers, Matt.

Yeah mate, me too! A good mate of Zak's recently imported it. Great condition (obviously), he is really happy with it. Same air-cooled flat twin as the 700, but 800cc & twin carbies. 4-speed manual floor shift.
Notice that big pair of brackets under the bonnet? They are to hold the 'heater can', which was fuel fired! They are a rare spare as most of them aparently caught fire & melted!!
Wierd!, but nice.
Cheers mate.

Encore !! Encore !! Great stuff guys. I remember last years event was a hoot by all accounts of the great action photos. Do want to get over there for this event one year. Being in a roaring flury of cranked up classics must be something to behold

Looking forward to action footage,

Cheers, B.
