Well, after quite a few attempts at selling on eBay, this little car has finally come into the forum family. Well, not strictly speaking, as Gary Carter doesn't drive a computer, but he checks things out from here pretty often. So I'm posting for him.
I've looked each time it was listed, and wondered what was wrong whwn it didn't sell. Some would suggest that it's less desireable being a non-twincam auto, but at the price, we thought it's gotta be good buying. The timing was right, as he was going to Melbourne for the motor show, so we took a punt & bid. Surprise!, he won. :o
He was able to check it over & arrange transport.
It landed on Tuesday. 8-)

Low & curvy - a proper sports coupe.

I like it - A lot!

Some details - It's a '79 model, so is up for club rego. It's the last version before Piazza.
SOHC 2lt Auto (a-la Gemini) 13" factory alloys, Aircon, Power steering, front discs, rear drums, full instrumentation, and 'modern' stuff like variable intermittent wipers, central locking, electric boot release & fold flat back seat. (It's a very little boot!)

EVERYTHING works. The power steer needed fresh oil, and it needed a new fuel filter. A service basically. We thought the ride was pretty firm - turns out it has adjustable shocks. There is a new looking stainless exhaust fitted. It drives & steers very nicely.
There are a few rust blisters, the worst in the driver's door. They're being fixed ASAP. I reckon it will have plates within the fortnight!

It is AMAZINGLY good. Gary is WRAPT! :D
Cheers, Matt. (And Gary)
