I like the smoother appearance of the D Max wheels, the wheel nuts are covered, the colour is much the same.

LOL

Hi Dave,
Despite my previous comment about you sitting on your taste, I do think those wheels look better on the MU-X. ...I hate to say it , but I think Isuzu got it back-to-front, as the MU-X wheels look a similar design to what I fitted to my D-Max.
I'll have to get you to send me a copy of the "family" photos you took outside the workshop too when you get a chance.

At this early stage the MU-X is appearing to be even more economical than the D Max! :o

During a recent trip to Narrabri, the first trip with the Caravan, going up we achieved 12.26L/100 klms, on the return trip, which between Narrabri and Coonabarabran is slightly up hill, we achieved 13.39L/100 klms, on another trip to Orange the MU returned 13.00L/100 klms, very happy with those figures, which are genuine figures not like "pipe dreams" some Caravanners claim!

Glad you are happy with the mux Dave, I've gone as far as collecting a brochure. Seems pretty comparable in size etc to the Santa Fe. What sort of economy do you manage when not burdened by the van?

Cheers, Matt.

Hi Matt,
Having owned a Sante' Fe, I would say the economy is very close to the Sante' Fe, the best we have had to date was 6.7L/100 klms.
The manufacturer states about .3L/100 klms better than the manual, the auto being more economical than the manual. The ride is markedly better than the D Max, when we picked up the MU-X, we had not left Orange and Marg commented about how much better the ride is, with Marg saying that and for her to notice the difference tells you the difference is quite noticeable.

If you go ahead let me know and I will ring you.

Pulling the block of flats it is also very good, marginally better than the D Max. On 2 recent trips with the caravan, Mudgee to Narrabri 12.26L/100 and the return trip slightly higher as it is up hill part of the way 13.39L/100, on another trip to Orange and return 13.00L/100.
Anyway good luck with your negotiations, which dealer are you thinking of? I can recommend the Orange Motor Group on Bathurst Road, if you are over that way.
Dave.

 Dave mate, I've led you astray! I collect a lot of brochures. Theres the small problem of 50 odd grand!

I got one for the Santa Fe when it was new, then waited 6 years. See, the first owner paid $42,000 + on roads, the second paid $32,000 at 3 years old, then we paid $12,000 at 6 years old. If it only lasts us 3 years (120,000ks odd) we will have had best value.

So I reckon I need to wait about 10 years for one to be affordable. But I'll have the brochure!
Nick will do till then, thats only about 400,000ks worth, and its only got 230,000 on it now. ;)

Cheers, Matt.

Oh yeah, and as for dealers, well I don't go to them. I did that once to buy the Sube, our only ever new car. Our experience was not good, so I reckon I will always go private in future. Much safer.
Cheers, Matt.
