This is my mint TC sedan. 1 owner (before me), original sales paperwork and full service history. Totally original, including paint, but I just tried these wheels with HR caps and whitewalls on today. I reckon they look pretty cool. Should I leave them on, or switch back to the original hubcaps?

Anyone have a venetian for one of these?

Yeah, I think I'll leave them on. When I walk towards the car now it makes me smile... that's a good sign I reckon.

Those centre caps were fitted to the TX and TC Gemini base model (ie the non "Gemini SL", SL/X or SL/E) with non-painted centres etc.

I remember back in the day, "Red Knight Rob" on the old AM CB network in Adelaide had a tasty little maroon base-model TX sedan with those caps on phat stockies and I remember being very, very excited when he went to sell it....

.... but instead I upgraded my computer to a 486DX2/66 instead with a 1 megabyte Paradise VESA local bus graphics card. It was totally an awesome computer for about 45 minutes.

So while they are technically incorrect from a restorers point of view... they are totally awesome and look great, especially with the white walls and chrome surrounds!

They look really old-school while still being legitiment wheels for that model.... so they don't look out of place at all.

And if they make you smile, then that's the main thing!

Geez, a 486 - awesome! I remember racing home from school to stick the cassette tape in my Vic20 and waiting for it to load for an hour before I played pong! I also recall spending $200 on 1 meg of RAM for my Amiga 500! Those were the days...

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah, I reckon they look choice. Gotta be better than any plastic caps. Nice original car, I'm hopeing you are going to keep it just like that.
Computer heads! I got no Idea of coarse, but I imagine you're talking about something the size of a bar fridge with a tenth the capacity of one of those camera card thingys??
Cheers, Matt.

Don't worry Matt, it'll still be like this in 20 years if I have anything to do with it. I haven't seen another like it for a long long time...
