Post subject:  GT Brake Pads.

Hi everyone.
There is a set of brake pads for any late model GT [from chassis No. 4202358] or anybody
that has GT brakes fitted and are rectangular in shape and have two slide pins to hold them
into the caliper.
They are from the UK listed as MDB1006. Our equivalent is DB52. Landed into Australia is $43.47.
Most brake pads are about $75.00 to $100.00. I have 1 set already, which I bought ages ago to
fit them to my white GT. It took me ages to track them down.

some brake places will bond a set for you, using your backing plates. eg BGT in Dandenong (Vic)

Yes. That is correct. Most states have a brake company that will re bond the old backing plate.
My main reason for posting is that it took me quiet some time in researching the equivalent part number.
Also the brake companies only listed the DB704 for all models. I was unaware that there was a change in the calipers until I read a GT parts book and had been shown a set first hand by a GT owner. My convertible is a '69 model and has a substituted caliper and rotor. Not the original. And that took a few years to find out what they were.
Just a gentle reminder to all Bellett owners to check their vehicles and take note of the thickness of the pad and rotor. Keep a set of pads in the cupboard just in case.
