Well I have just taken the Wasp on its maiden voyage without points, and so far , so good.
I was having problems with intermittent spark from the points, so decided to look into an electronic conversion. If only everything with our cars was so easy.
I google searched distributor conversions, phoned up the first Australian company I found and told them the part number of the points. They told me their part number and who the local distributors are (Burson's or Repco in my area ). So I called Burson's , ordered the parts, and they turned up the next day.

Wish it was all that easy.

Yes, I appear to be having points issues too. Part numbers would be great, I'm heading to Bursons tomorrow morning!

Great news mate, sounds like a permanent fix!
Does the dizzy look the same with the cap on?
Cheers, Matt.

Hi Guys,
Glenn, I didn't have the part number handy. It is from RAE Ignition & Sensors, part #RIGHN.

Farmer, in answer to your question, most people wouldn't even notice anything different. Some of the wiring has been upgraded from the coil to the distributor, but that's the only external difference. The conversion still uses the same rotor button and dizzy cap.
I will try and post some photos later.

I bought the kit a few weeks back with some other goodies, but I think it was $240/ $250. Now me being not very good with electrics, and after reading all the ways to stuff it up, paid a mechanic $100 to do the conversion for me. But money well spent it seems.
