Yep, you read it right!

A couple of years back AMC did an article or two on Colin Bond, finally getting him to admit in a public forum that he drove a Bellett, ever.

There were pics of him at Bathurst (I think) and in PNG!

A couple of months later, Brett managed to sneak a certain sports sedan Bellett in AMC while writing in about his Dad's Dick Johnson Group C replica.

Now Ted 'Teditor' Freeman has managed to sneak a pic of a Bellett in there; and an action shot no less!

It was part of a letter he sent in about his experiences at the defunct Catalina Park circuit in NSW.

Go and buy a copy today!

Thanks Ted for flying the Bellett flag!

In the current BMC EXPERIENCE mag there is an article by Brian Colcheth about his days in Aust
doing a few rallies . Amongst the photos there is a picture of the service crew refueling a Morris 1100
during the 1970 Papuan Safari & if you look behind & to the left is an Isuzu GT rally car . I havn't had the
magnifying glass out yet , but is that an Express next to it ?

Page 26 in the latest Australian Muscle Car Magazine has another of my Bellett antics covered, along with a plug for the 2015 Convention.

Although not a big thumping V8 Muscle Car, I am very pleased to see the coverage given the Isuzu Bellett marque and am also very excited about the Nationals coming to Toowoomba in September, I wish I could fly the Bellett Flag while you are all here, but you will just have to put up with my 'old school' XC Falcon, 4.1 Six with triple 45DCOE Webers.

Although the inclusion in AMC shows a Bellett once again being crashed, it also shows the strength of these beloved little machines in the photo of the car a couple of weeks after the incident.

I look forward to seeing everyone here in Toowoomba in September and yes, I will be a part of it.

Tripple webbers Ted! Nice. Falcon can now breathe, and should sound nice.
Great that you will be at the Nats, we will see you there.

Not looking for a Wasp project are you?

Cheers, Matt.

Matt,

Luv too (pun intended), but time and money are stretched very thin now between model trains and the Falcon.

By the way Australian Muscle Car goes on sale Thursday I believe, I have a subscription, so already have it, just have to go out and buy another few hundred copies.

Hey Ted,

Damn, man I've got this mag, but usually take some time to get thru the issue thanks to life generally getting in the way.

As soon as I saw this post, I grabbed it and had a look.

Man that was some crash!!!!

Looks to me you worked out a fairly quick way of disassembling a Bellett, though!

Cheers for the heads up!

Dave

Actually, the durability of a Bellett was well shown, not a single light or glass item actually broke and the car impacted front and rear only, hence the ability to get it back on the track with assistance from very keen and enthusiastic Bellett Car Club members.

I recall quite vividly that I was holding onto the roll bar above my head as I tumbled, obviously not as far as the right arm went, whoever took the photos is lost to me know, but the photos were a testament to the persons ability to catch the action.

I guess its no surprise that the action shots I have managed to get in AMC Magazine have been of accidents, but with the nature of humans, straight racing shots of a Bellett in a Muscle Car magazine probably wouldn't gel all that well.

With the defunct racing circuits coverage, I was able to take advantage of the situation and get some Belletts in amongst the big thumping V8's and Hair drier equipped fours.

Ted.

Current edition, issue 82, Blue Falcon and Commodore on the front, the crash 'n' bash is on page 26.

You should recognise a few of the members in one photo.

Got my copy Ted, you did a great job.
Your photos also tell a graphic story on their own!
