With the nationals only 161 day's away it's time we start to look at this years road trip as holliday's may be needed. only 154 day's till tour de bellett's begins
disclaimer :!: This is not a orginized trip it is based on the fact that we are going to do a road trip to the nationals nothing planned to the T. There is a few places of interest i wish to explore on the way ;).MORE ABOUT THAT SOON. each morning we wake up and move, how far we get depends on how much we are distracted by what our great country has to show, this means we are not responsable for having to entertain you or your accomadation, ect. we worry about that when we get there  this adds to the adventure.
You will need a flask, a car ,a sense of humour and be adaptable to what ever happens.
Now anyone that wants to join in on the way we need to have a idea so we can start the planning.
The proposed trip will start saturday the 13th of october on the sunshine coast to be at the nats friday the 19th. The road trip home will be another week if anyone wants to join in.
I need expressions of interest if anyone is interested and where you want to join us the dots will be set in place and the dashes will come in time.

YIOU KNOW I'M IN!!!!

Hell, I'll go to Honalulu if that's where the conga line starts
Sunny Coast is as good a place as any to start in my book.
I'll head up a couple of days earlier to stay with my sister at Noosaville before the adventure starts.
It's going to be the mother of all road trips, at least until the 2013 SA nationals that is, which may just pale in comparison to the 2014 Tassie nationals. OoooH sooo many dots.
Us QLDers are going to have all the fun, road triping all over the country side without a care for where to stay or where to eat, doting the dots, dashing the dashes, while all you suckers down south only have to drive down the road and around a couple of corners. (tounge in cheek of course)

I'd better get started re-shoeing Donkey with his disc brakes before too much more time slips by.

You KNOW you're right!
We had all the driving fun in '09 with the Adelaide trip - 5700km covered in 'Doris'.
Yeah, I know we're near journey's end, but we would love to be a dot. Geoff and Christine called on their tour last week, so they know where we are now. (My challenge is to tidy this joint up between now & then to show an improvement!)

Now this is just a suggestion, and I like your idea of 'Make it up as we go' -
Weekend before last we went to Tumut - nice place. It happens to be on the most direct line between Adelaide and Merimbula.
Now if there happened to be an Adelaide dots n dashes, that might be a place to join up.
AND if there was a Tassie/Vic conga up the Hume-ish area, they could thread in too.
Now THAT'S a CONVOY!! - Up through the Snowys & down Brown mountain. LOTS of nice scenery/bendy bits.
Of course it would be shorter to go down through Canberra, and shorter for the Tas/Vics to go 'round through Cann River, but who wants SHORTER?

Whaddya reckon?
Cheers, Matt.

Greg. Count me in. Got from 12th off. Will have to make a quick trip home unfortunately. The bosses' family made arrangements for holidays up north and then told him when it was. I had advised work last year that the nationals were on.
Will contact you before hand on addresses etc.

Dave.

Greg/Geoff,

Any idea of the ndate you might pass through Mudgee?
To date I only have the preceding Friday and the following Monday off, I would think reading your intentions you will be well past Mudgee by the Friday?
Things change I will keep this trip in mind if my situation changes.
Dave M.
P.S. Hill End is a pretty little village, a good spot for a weekend for me away from it all!!
