Heya guys,

edit: WE HAVE FEATURED MARQUE STATUS IN 2013!!!! AGAIN!!!!

That's right Bellettheads, the Isuzu Bellett will again feature in the Bay to Birdwood Classic, with our own special line-up at the start and our own area at the end; this means that even if we get separated, we will get back together again with no problems!

Needless to say, this is EPIC information; after getting such a status in 2009 I was adamant it would not happen again, but as it turns out, if you don't ask, you don't know.

As you know, the 2013 Bellett Nationals is being held over the same weekend as the Bay to Birdwood Classic with a view to participating in the Bay to Birdwood Classic on Sunday 29 September.

If you want the official version, it is here: http://www.baytobirdwood.com.au/the_classic.html

Here is the general rundown though...

While all and any Bellett-based vehicles are welcome at the Nationals, the Bay to Birdwood Classic traditionally caters for restored/original cars. Vehicles with alloy wheels etc will get in with no problems, but full-blown street machines are not in the spirit of the event (Geoff and your V6-powered Wasp, I'm looking at you!!!!).

Actually in all honesty, Brett's Wasp, Geoff's Wasp and the ex-Kazzmax Violet Crumble sedan are the only Belletts I can think of that don't conform to the rules!

So such cars are still welcome, but they won't be much good to you on the Sunday.

The event itself is MASSIVE. Entries are usually limited to 1850 vehicles, so make sure you enter ASAP once entries open.

Entries will open in May 2013.

Previous participants should receive entry forms in the post automatically.

The event is a long day and starts pretty early, but it's amazing to see hundreds upon hundreds of our favourite classics (ok, Holdens, Fords and Chryslers) mixing it up with the rare stuff... like our stuff!

Get on it!!!!!! (in May)

Cheers,

Dave

Thanks Dave for the heads up, but at this stage Adelaide looks like a non event for me, or maybe with Car and Caravan, no Bellett.
Thanks Geoff

Yeah cheers guys; important information!

Previous entrants have received their forms therefore the 2013 Bay to Birdwood forms HAVE been released!

They are not yet on the website... sit tight... when they are, they will be here:

http://www.baytobirdwood.com.au/entryform.html

There are some important changes from previous Bay to Birdwood events...

1) entry forms must include a recent photo of your car! I hope this isn't to weed out the grassroots ratters and more to keep the idiots out rolling 18" wheels and playing doof doof (it's happened before... with a white and pink split-window Kombi).

2) The route has changed in order to relieve the chaos of the last couple of years; previously the narrow and twisty North East Road was closed to oncoming traffic, meaning B2B Entrants had both sides of the road. The cops are no longer happy to do this, so 1750 cars tried to go through the hills at once. It was a bottleneck to say the least.

The new route, while less twisty and interesting, is more sensible for the amount of cars in the event, plus the added bonus that we get to fang through the Heysen Tunnel! Make sure your window is down... brrraaaaaaaaaaaaa, brrrraaaaaaahhhhh!!!!

UPDATE:

WHEN FILLING IN YOUR BAY TO BIRDWOOD CLASSIC FORM
MAKE SURE YOU WRITE:

"ISUZU BELLETT"

...SOMEWHERE AT THE TOP OF THE FORM IN AN EMPTY PART OF THE PAGE

This has been confirmed to me by the event's head organiser. This way when your entrant's pack arrives, it will include a card that says "ISUZU BELLETT" and the marshalls will know to group us together.

Write "ISUZU BELLETT" on your form at the top
REGARDLESS OF WHAT CAR YOU'VE ENTERED

Eg if you have a Florian, fill in the form as normal and say that it's a Florian, but ensure to put ISUZU BELLETT at the top of the page.

Or die!*

*not really

Nice quick turnaround there Oz... !!!! Not sure what you can do; I imagine you can email the organisers to ensure you get a card sent; I can't see it being a problem.

Thanks guys!

Hey if any of you want to send me an official RSVP that would be great. So far I have one... mine!!! Gonna be a small event!

Dave

Hi Chris,

Cheers for that; unsure why the form is being a pain, email-wise. I tried to reply to it just now myself and it worked fine, but then again that's on the computer that generated the form in the first place.

Seriously, it was more a guide as to what info we need! I know a few of you are coming, but now I have two RSVPs! Yay!
