Was great to catch up with with our extended Bellett family in Penrith and check out Rod and Carla's beautiful Charger's and Bellett's. The extra load hasn't worried Donkey any and his brakes are holding up fine thanks Gricey ;)
I'll head back down south in a few weeks with a trailer to pick up Donkeys new girlfriend 'Jenny' (she's beautiful :D ) but work won't start on her until Donkey is rewarded for his outstandingly reliable service (new ball joints, bearings, shocks, clutch, another short shaft uni and a few other necessary repairs)
+ 'Percy' needs to get sorted as he will possibly be the one to go to Tassie next year instead of Donkey (tower rust, seat belts, seats, brake booster and who knows what else) I'm still negotiating the terms with Donkey but at the moment he's not happy about it

Last night was another Bellett family night as we invaded and spent the night at Terry and Janet's place. Good food, good company and plenty of conversation and laughter.
+ BEST NIGHT'S SLEEP EVER!! Close to it anyway
Thanks for a fabulous night at such short notice.

Tonight Ballina then tomorrow is home :(

One more home, Left Greg, Liz, James and Stickman at Ballina, and hot footed it home. got here at 5PM and have covered 7928 k's... Only problem was fire went out about 60k short of Mt Gambier, changed fuel filter and blew fuel line out and never missed a beat again.

Thanks road trippers, had a ball.

Geoff and Christine.

I really have to hand it to you Belletter's from up Nth. Thats an incredible trip and with so few problems, a credit to you, your cars and tough Isuzu's.

Ray tells me the 117 stopped also with a blocked fuel line. I think the cars have done us proud. But they all need a little loving now

I just drained the tank on the Sport last week as the drain plug was leaking. I was amazed so little 'crap' came out of it in the process. But this will vary car to car and i would imagine the crap is the reason for the blocked lines.

Agreed Glenn,

All our road trippers should share "spirit of the nats" award in my books. Testemony to Bellett toughness all weekend and beyond by all cars and the great people in them.

Sticky, I share your :( face at the end of such an epic experience, but :D to know everyone has made it back safe. Who knows what will happen if you let Donkey loose in the paddock with Jenny :o  :?

Lizzie, have you gone in for more rebuild yet? All thinking of ya.

And if you're reading this Brett, i was never one for Xmas cards anyway. But I've been "shitting chickens" over your honour roll omission. Needless to say we all enjoyed the prescence of yourself and your lovely partner, classy Kym, albeit for a short while and WITHOUT BELLETT :P

Has anyone got photos of the trophies? Dumbass me didn't take any, but i'd really like some to back up the history of the wood and the production of them.

Cheers, B.B.B.

We are home :( A funny thing happened to us today :!: We were near Byron bay 37 degrees outside and in a traffic jam donkey was 5 cars in front off us and sticky managed to get him to the left side of the road when he broke down and came to a stop. The people beside us could see what happened and invited us to cross there path so we were together as we crossed over lanes beside donkey ol yella stopped and would not restart and ol yella was pushed to the side in front of donkey  Once again it was Donkey turn for a fuel blockage we fixed Donkey and then l lifted ol yellas bonnet to have a look what happened and I tried to wind him over and he fired up and off we went again with a couple of spits and farts we were on our way again. I think ol yella just wanted to stop and see if donkey was ok. Just under 8000km's with no real drama's out of the 6 cars they all had a turn a playing up but none let us down with only 5 minute fixes. When you think combined they travelled 48000km in 2.5 weeks 8-)

Ray was happy to put it on our club facebook  He later had fuel issues  something about stones and glass houses comes to mind  adds to the fun :D

Hi all.

Got home Saturday night. All good.
Clutch and speedo to repair. Can't get 1st, 2nd & reverse without crunching. Making new bushes for bellcrank pivot.
Speedo reads 80mph when standing still. Have only 1 good unit and multiple units that need overhauling. Would like
to repair original unit as it has the trip button through the face.
I occassionly had fuel problems too. Whilst mobile. I moved the steering wheel up and down and made a shuffle down
the road. Tried to use high octane fuel at all fillups, but wasn't able to. And I think there was a 'bug' in the fuel and
some crud in the tank. Filled up in Goodiwindi and it never re-occurred.
Glad to see that everyone got home safe. Russ rang me and he got home Saturday about 2pm.
Would like to than Kerry and Anne for their hospitality. Gricey is a real diplomat. Rings up and tells Kerry to put the coffee on.
Yer. getting visitors. If only my shed was that big. Had a ball.
Davo. Always a pleasure to entertain the entertainer. Was not a problem.

Last but not least. A big thankyou to all my 'dot and dash" companions.
Liz & Greg & James. 'Mother' Christine & Geoff. Cheryl & 'Gricey'. Ruby & Ray. Russell. Jeff 'Stickman'.

Tassie. On my list that I will be going. Last time I was there was 1982. My 2 kids were 5 & 3 yrs. old. Never threw away
the maps I had then.

Dave.

We all made it safe and sound-ish.
And yes for the first time ever Donkey finally stopped on the side of the road :o when leaving Ballina and Ol'yella refused to leave him behind stopping in the exact same spot on the H'way
Fuel issue and overheating in traffic jamb raising it's ugly head but 10 mins later we were off again and made it home safe and sound-ish with a slight detour for me as I drove straight past my exit and continued another 40mins north to the orphanage with Greg and Lizzie before returning back home that night.
It was largely trouble free trip for all of us which leads us to the "safe and sound-ish" part
Donkey isn't as happy on arriving home as I would have hoped and expected and he has since told me that he has a migraine and that a simple pill ain't gonna cure it.......... blown head gasket
Poor little man needs alot of loving now so I have told him that the Tassie trip is indefinably going to be in Percy (blue 69 sedan formerly called Billy) so now I have to pull my finger out and get him sorted and rego'd because Tassie is just around the corner (and down the street a little)

A massive thanks to all of my road tripping family for the laughs, love and memories
Bring on Tassie!!
