Totally new to the bellett scene. I normally do vauxhall, renault and saab but I spotted this 1500-66 advertised and could not resist. It has been standing since 1977, family owned and they are clearing the farm and sold out most items incl cars and several tractors. Quite solid car and pretty much complete except for some minor items.
Worst area is windscreen. Damaged and all milky in the bottom (laminated) so where do I get one? I have tried to find info on the forum and apparently they differ over the years. Is it unique to the bellett and "impossible" to find or?

The forum seems to be nice but I lack a suppliers area. I guess that not much exists today but it is a lot of names and companies mention in other threads bot they does not lead to anything if I google it and if you are not a bellett maniac it does nt say much where to find the parts.

Hi Stefan, welcome to the group and congratulations on the Bellett find. Can you post some pictures.

Yes there are some variations in the windscreens so one needs to know the model and even the body number to be able to determine which screen is fitted.

As far as I am aware though, there is no actual source of screens you can buy off the shelf. Normally one of the Clubs will get a small quantity made to order, from a supplier here.

Some though here may have a good second hand one but it might be very difficult to ship one over. There are clubs I believe in Finland and Holland that might be able to help and be closer to home.

The vin is PR204036751

I am aware that parts are very difficult. As for the screen mentioned I was hoping that perhaps it was the same as any hillman model if they wanted to cut costs in the beginning.
I will ofcourse try to find information from the clubs here in europe. I have just collected the car so it is very new everything.

Hi Stefan

Nice to see a Nordic Bellett fan.

If you can't find the windscreen from Sweden, I would suggest to ask from Kuttilan Autolasit, Finland. They have quite good assortment of windscreens and other glass parts for rare cars. Bellett is actually quite popular in Finland, so I believe they would have it on a shelf.

If you cant find parts from SWE, you should ask from Fun Motors Finland, they can help with most parts.

How popular has Bellett been in Sweden? I haven't seen any for sale in Blocket.se, but they did sale good in the '60-s?

Post subject:  Re: Hello from Sweden

yes it is a teardrop model and photos will come.
I have no idea how popular it is in sweden. I have managed to find some registered but most are not used for decades. The fellow in Staffanstorp seems to have some but I have not contacted him yet. Has not been on the forum for some time either so I dont know if he is still around or active.
This one was advertised on "blocket" actually but the spelling was wrong if I am not mistaken. Listed as Izusu I think.
I know that the finnish glasscompanies is very good in vintage glass and also reproduction for oneoffs but I will contact the mentioned companys to get more info.

My plan with this is to repair as necessary and pass the inspection so it is usable. I have learned from the past that huge restoration plans always ends with a dismantled car and then loss of interest.........

Hi Stefan, if it is a teardrop model the windscreen should be fairly easy to get. There is a company here in Australia, Moran glass, who keeep them on the shelf. They are manufactured in the Philippines I believe, so shipping should be easy.
If you don’t have any luck closer to home, send me a pm and I will get you their contact info.

Nice one!

At least you seem to have some snow, we have only had a tiny bit for few days. I don't even have a good pic of Bellett in the snow.

Hi,

We had a user join a while ago called "Belletts In Sweden". If you can find his posts, it gives some detail as to the history of Belletts in Sweden!

He has a couple of them and I think his father was the distributor for them. Not many were sold, as I understand.

I find it intriguing that when your Bellett was sold new, it was prior to Dagen-H, when you all had to swap what side of the road you drove on!

I remember as a kid my grandmother telling me that the Swedish used to drive on the same side as we do here in Australia. It wasn't until I got onto Wikipedia that I decided to check that fact!!!
