.I Did The Etch Primer With The Small Gun & Despite Looking Good On Closer Inspection I Could Still See Sparkling Of The Bare Metal Through The Etch Primer So A Thicker Coat Was Needed & A Step Up In Gun Size Was Also Needed.

..The Bigger Spray Gun Was An Absolute Delight As Up Until Now I Have Only Used The Touch-Up Gun, It Was Much Easier To Control & Set-Up..

...The Big Gun Was Easy To Dial In & The 50/50 Overlap Was A Lot More Achievable With It Compared To The Touch-Up Gun...

....So From Now On I Will Continue To Use The Small Gun For The First Coat As It Is Pretty Good With The Tight Spots & Then I Will Let That Dry & Use The Big Primer Gun For A Thicker Wetter Coat....

are you talking of spraying etch primer or primer? Etch primer goes over bare metal and is sprayed sparingly, to allow the primer to key to the metal.

....After The Paint-Stripper I Will Then Use A Carpet Sanding Disc So To Get Down To The Good Bare-Metal From There I Will Put A Coat Of Etch-Primer & Then Primer & Then Hopefully The Top Coat Of Color, When I Painted Up The Door I Did Etch-Primer 1st Then I Used A Putty-Primer Which I Will Not Be Using Again So The Boot Will Be Bare-Metal Then Etch-Primer & Then A Normal Primer Then Color & This Method Will Be Used All Over From Now On.
The Putty-Primer Is A Very Thick Viscous Material & Required A Lot Of Thinning Down, Plainly Put It's Hard To Work With.
When I Sprayed The Etch-Primer On The Inner Boot The I Did Not Get The Best Coverage So I Did Go Back Over Again With A Nice Wet Coat (I Did Not Use It Sparingly As Recommended In Last Reply Post), Will This Thicker Wetter Coat Of Etch-Primer Cause Any Issues As I Was Hoping To Apply The Primer & Color In The Same Ways....

I am no spray painter, But you will need to spray putty it, guide coat it and 400/ guide coat it again and 800 it before top coat. If you don't you will get sand paper scratch marks showing through your finished job :?:

etch primer is not supposed to cover the metal totally, its just a dust coat that then allows the primer to 'stick' so only a very light mist coat is required. You should be able to see through it. It's usually a yellow colour and is thinnned about 50% with thinners if i recall.

What sort of primer are you using? 2 Pak or Acrylic?
