This car has been a regular over many years at the Kataoka Racing Service Battle Royale racing series, held at Central Circuit.

Youtube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHrygj3qehs

The entry indicates it is an Aquarius Racing built car.

It does not have DOHC badging. It might be a SOHC or OHV engined car, or it may have been converted to a DOHC but the owner does not seem to care about dressing it as a GT-R.

All of the dark colored panels are naked carbon fiber from Restored (mentioned in the carbon fiber and fiberglass reproduction panel thread on this forum).
Determining the year of the car based on the type of hood and details of the carbon fiber panels is not going to be accurate, because the carbon fiber panels are available only in the short hood/bonnet with hood vent style.
The hood, cowl, fenders, doors, and trunk lid total $7,300 USD excluding shipping or any taxes (in November 2009 exchange rate).

It would be a post 1970 car given the position of the wipers.

What's with the recessed rear-side windows?

extra wind resistance to slow it down...its probably a regulation that they had to put in place cos it goes so fast! hahah

think u'll find that it's just thin, flat perspex mounted straight to the small flange that the side window normally closes against. looks recessed because the window assembly on a GT is pretty thick (what with the glass, rubber, metal surround, etc.), so the perspex would sit inwards further.

Thanks for putting up this awsome footage JT. I think from the amazing sound of the GT (R?) at full tilt, it would have to be a DOHC jobbie under the bonett. But I think PR91 would be more informed on this. What ever it is, it shows how ferocious these things can be tuned up.

Awsome !!
