Brochure time is well overdue!

This one is particularly special as it is for the Isuzu Bellett Sport!

The front cover caused me MUCH frustration, as I thought my scanner was broken or I'd muddled up a de-screening setting, as the picture kept coming out with the weird effects you see below.

However then I grabbed the actual brochure it became clear... that effect is actually prominent in the front cover design and no amount of 'de-screening' was going to fix it!

Here we see the Sport being put thru its paces, with the stopwatch-adorned rally clipboard as a background. No mistaking the reason for the Sport's existence; to fang!

The front cover opens up and features this narrow gatefold page inside. This gives the best bunch of pics you will see anywhere. The best pictures feature:
- The three Bellett Sports head in front of a Bellel and a Bellett GT, while a Wasp is seen going in ultra-fast blurry motion!
- Bellett Sport being attended to by mechanics and race drivers; note the twin carbies!
- detail of the c-pillar badge

Due to the front cover page being extended, the second page is wider than the rest of the pages. It features a natty studio pic photo of the Bellett Sport 4-door sedan and 2-door sedan. Outwardly the Sport appears to have all Deluxe fitments, right down to the Deluxe badge!

Sorry about the two different shades of blue between the two parts of the scan; the scanner doesn't seem to be able to regulate these. Or perhaps it's the user.

Page three shows some of the vibrant red interior that can also be seen in other 1966-1967-model vehicles.

The Bellett B...

...and the regular Deluxe sedan

... both featured this vibrant interior. However, only the Sport has the extra dials from the Bellett GT, the clock and anciliary controls that would normally be found in the centre stack of the GT are in a facia hanging under the dash.

Plus there's the awesome, dangerous and sharp-edged rally computer on the seat!

Pages 4 and 5, the centre page, has a better shot of the dashboard. Clearly visible is the in-dash tacho as seen in the GT, along with the Yazaki gauges where the radio or 'Bellett' cover plate would be. No remote shifters or GT steering wheels for the Sport though!

Where would we be without a demonstration on how to use the ashtray! I hope they're Kents!

The careful sketching of the switchgear is, I think, unique to this brochure.

The Bellett Sport is about 90% of a Bellett GT slammed into a 2 or 4-door sedan body. Page seven shows the carbies as fitted to the GT, however they are fitted to the 1500 cast-iron four cylinder, rather than the 1600 G161. It also shows the disc-brake front end that was fitted to the Sport.

Finally here is the stat page. Trainspotters might want to work out where the power differentiates between the varying versions. Interesting that the Sport is considered a PR20 and doesn't have its own ID code.

Also visible down the bottom is the Showa date 41.10, meaning October 1966.

This is an exceptionally interesting brochure; it shows a rare form of the Bellett that I haven't seen in any detail in any other brochure, plus it has interiors that were common in the 1966-1967 period, but avoids the drug-addled 'Magical Mystery Tour' theme of most of the other brochures of the same period!
