Hi people,

Hopefully one day there'll be enough people on the forum to answer this....

But I really would like a fairly fresh column shift linkage system - even a rebuilder would be considered.

My column shift mechanism in my white PR20 is a bit shagged and floppy... and awesomely I was speaking to a guy a few years ago and asked him about that... and he'd just thrown one out a month or so beforehand....

This is why this forum exists. I don't want to ever hear that story again.

So if you've got one, lemme know!!!!

Cheers,

Dave

Hey Dave,

Here are the photos of the column shift I have:

Say $80 plus postage.

I will probably take off the wheel to send down via post as it will be a bit hard to package properly.

Thanks for pulling that out of the shed; big ask but I don't suppose the linkages that go all the way to the gearbox are there either?

I'll still take it (give me a couple of days to rally funds from the Minister of Finance) but yeah if there are any other bits that would be awesome.

Cheers dude!

Will have a look tonight - I am sure they will be still attached to the gearbox - as I got the complete car from the wreckers a few years back with engine and gearbox.
Will rat as much as I can and take more photos for you.

champion! Currently my column shifta (2nd from left in my signature) feels like you're stirring a box full of marbles on most gearchanges and I don't think the box or bearings are to blame.

Ross and I bought the car as a floor shift, however it had the column shift box in it (3-4, 1-2 shift pattern!) and a bench seat, so odds are it was a column shift to begin with, so I converted it back using some bits I had from an old blue column shift sedan we owned. Anyway I don't think those bits were up to scratch...

So yeah, cheers for looking!

Gday Dave,

Right, I have stopped (not really) thinking about the chopper for five minutes, I need a few more parts and I can really start mocking it up so I can then pull it all down to get engineered and then painted, and got the linkages off the gearbox in my shed.
I will get a couple of photos of them to confirm they are the ones you require.

Cheers mate,
Neil

PS: Enjoying all the banter over Belletts on these forums - keep it up guys as I don't get to chat about my own Bellett much as I am pretty sure it is the only one in Darwin - and all this talk makes me want to get out to the shed and work on it!!!! Just need more time (damn work gets in the way of everything to do with fun)

Hey Redback,

I'll be in Alice Springs over Christmas if you know anyone coming down that way I can pick this stuff up for dave. I know it's a long shot but I've got to mention it or I'll be kicking myself when next year you say "I know people going to Alice ALL the time, why didn't you tell me" :)

And vice versa for parts, I'm driving up so their will be room in the car for bits and bobs :D

Cheers,
RS.

Hey I'm happy to get it shipped. I might be able to get mates rates thru a mate ;)

Thanks for getting those bits out.

Cheers,

Dave

Hey Dave - I have finally got off my arse and taken the photos of the linkages for your column shift manual etc you are chasing.

Here is the photo:
One of the cotter pins is a little bent (it was hard to get out) and the thread is rooted.
If you PM me with your address I will get a price for postage first for the linkages and steering column (minus the steering wheel) or alternatively see what you can do with your mate and the mates rate - I am happy to wrap it up properly and drop it off anywhere in Darwin for you.
All the best,
Neil
