This car is also listed on 'whatsinyourpaddock' as being in the Adelaide Hills where as the Pickles listing has it in Elizabeth. Curious indeed!

Reckon your right Flibblleeesssssss.........

looks like a lot of his collection is up for sale, maybe he had a heart attack trying to put out the grass fire or got bitten by a brown snake while under one of his cars.

the website doesn't say much about what its worth or when its for sale????

in fact a pretty crappy website for a big company!!!!!

her indoors would NOT BE HAPPY....

even if it is another wreck and being stripped

bellett's in the front yard dont look anything like garden gnomes, even if your dress them up and place them strategically around the yard.

Might be cheap if at auction pickles, you might not have much competition. Don't let it get away!!
Good clean, bung a guard on there and go for a drive! You know it will. ;)

Cheers, Matt.

In the late 60's and into the 70's you could buy a sticker or decal to show KPH on a MPH speedo. That's one of them.
I can relate to the "Garden Gnome" theme. Have two on the front lawn of houseyard. Can't disguise them at all.

That chassis number puts it a 68 model, late flatter top windscreen and about 2000 before strip taillights started.
Yep, its pretty crusty, but if its not worth 2 bucks then thats sad.
Depending what works, there must be value in the parts.
Cheers, Matt.

If it were up here somewhere (within a 4hr or so drive from home) I'd pay upto 500-600 for it without batting an eyelid, possibly more after inspection.
I see PLENTY of value in it

a good clean straight bonnet is worth $150-$200 to me (hint hint) $100 for the front seats (I'd pay 400 for a good front bench ;) ) complete long engine $200 (running or not) gearbox $100+ then glass, trims, diff, brake components, headlights you name it, there's s### loads of little hard to find bits in a car like this......

Perhaps I don't $ value our cars like most (or possibly anyone else for that matter) but I view the worth of a car like as that of keeping 3 cars on the road for my lifetime. I paid 1G + fuel and a days transport for the rusted to hell Bundaberg car but to me the rebuilt engine and column shift gear is worth every cent of that alone.
And Of course there is always the possibility of major accident damage (touch wood) and I have full comp insurance on all my cars just in case. But where is an insurer going to find the parts to repair a car like ours in such a case?? I'm planning ahead for my babies....

Not everyone can store cars or parts for the maybe but while I can (which is why I bought a shipping container).... I am (just incase my Bellett family needs parts too)

i agree sticky, especially with engine re-worked. and 1965 are a much rarer breed to boot

but i have seen the car some years ago and its very tired, fair bit of rust and already have a shed full of most bits and pieces and another '68 down at the shed half wrecked!

but i reckon there are still more in SA back yards and the country SA that would be better buys.

like my running Roman Red sedan that ripped around Tassie for a week!

yeah

Well said Stickman. I'm thinking we're thinking alike, mate. Gotta think of the future, once they're gone, they're gone!
