I have an opportunity to purchase a teardrop early sedan and it is 99% complete, it is not running at this stage and is defected (SA Reg.) for no accelerator pedal it has not been on the road for a few years. it is pretty rust free, the only thing it has a set of mags on it.

Its darkish blue with blue interior.

I am asking $700-$800 neg. for it so let me know if you are interested. It would make a good parts car as the taillight lenses aren't broken the badges are on it the horn button is still fitted. Not looked at the engine as yet. the car is not perfect but if someone is chasing parts for their own resto its definitely worth it. If it wasn't for the defect it would clean up well enough to drive the paint work is ok but like I said not sure about mechanicals was running fine before defect.

I only had a quick look at it today as it is not the same model I have which is a 67 so not really needed as you know I am chasing a GT.

Thanks

It would probably be well worth grabbing for someone, Defects can be fixed, or it could be the base of a restore rebuild. Did you manage to get any pictures of it?

I only have one but it doesn't show much. There is a couple minor dents on the front guard and the rear door, the other side looked better.

I have seen that car, under the bonnet (bonnet cable broken) no fuel pump, and had a foam air cleaner which had
disintegrated so would say the carby would need a good clean out minimum.
Interior was pretty ratty and the roof lining had been ripped from one side to the other,
Ignition wiring had been pulled out where the key barrel is.
The bottom of one brake lend had broken.
It was pretty rust free though a few dings round the place
I made a $400 offer a couple of years ago but they wanted much more.
As I bought the Wasp and the Luv since am full up

I haven't looked into it that much but I think they are moving and it may end up at the scrappers so made an offer and they accepted as I thought another one saved and there are members out there still looking for parts for them so that is why I am offering it to cover costs and a little extra for my time. Plus I'm trying to purchase a G200W engine for the GT project as my original plan of the Toyota V8 is just too wide to fit. I could drive the car straight but wouldn't be able to turn so I am looking at the G200w.

Thanks for the info though, yeah its defected so probably only good for a parts car.

Hi Fellow forum members,

I picked up the Bellett today and am quite impressed with the overall condition of the car that has been outside for quite sometime and by the look of the rego papers It have has not been on the road since 2002.

I have taken some photos of its over all conditions. There has been a mishap in the front and the bonnet cable is broken so no pictures of the engine bay. There is little rust and it is pretty straight apart from the front damage, bumper is ok but both the guards are damaged but no rust though, the front door on the passenger side is rusted as you will see in the photos and there is a spot in the rear sill on the drivers side as per any other Bellett but the rest is ok has few a dents here and there. the stainless is great condition only one with a small mark. It has its horn button and even the original fuel cap and grill badge intact, no bonnet badge though.

It looks like the round tail light lenses have been replaced at some point but the larger red ones, one is damaged. it is without looking under the bonnet about 90% there. Let me know what you think. It is a pitting its defected as you could clean it up and get it running and use it as it is with the patina of the paint.

I am still waiting on the keys for the car so can't show any photos of the boot but I can tell you that I cannot see much if any rust underneath the car, even both the bottom of the B pillars have no rust. It is currently being stored at my Dad's house so if you have any questions let me know and I can organise for anyone who want to view it.

I could go on about it even the floor mats in the car aren't even damaged the hood lining is ripped, but it is well worth the look.

Thanks for looking
Jeff

I would try Ebay and list it there .Teardrops are rare these days, and $800 is a bargain.
I just sold a Teardrop on Ebay to someone who knew nothing about them but liked the look.
He wasn't a forum member as far as I know.
Cheers
Rod.

That 64 looks like it's sporting 15 inch rims from an 80's Nissan 300ZX (see pic)

Both cars are 4x114 stud pattern but I'm surprised the 15's would fit in the Bellett arches.

Those wheels are worth at lest $50 on their own. I've got a set if anyone wants, so does 2ldohc :-)

Cheers, g0speed

Looks more like early Magna wheels. Take note of the different centre cap arrangement. TN and TP Magna are also 4/114.3 stud pattern.
