nice find guy's goes to show they are out there you just need to do your home work, just look at the cars that have changed hands and come out of the wood work in recent months. When Pom wanted a tear drop we all wished him luck on finding one :?: I have since replaced Rolie with a tear drop, kjb's, the 5k one  and now one on ebay.
Your wasp is much better than Lizzies new one ;) i will post some picks tonight :?.
BTW naming cars is not silly we have a fleet of trucks and utes they are all numbered and most named and a lot of the time staff call them by name.

Good job there guys. mine is about the same condition but engine was out and apart!!!
Think mine is a short wheel base tray but looks very similar.

Hey Gary is that Matt's old LWB Wasp?

I wasn't even 100% sure there was such a thing until Matt said he'd OWNED one!!! And that he told me he'd seen other ones in the dealership Back In The Day.

There is literally NOTHING about the LWB in any literature I have - so who's Shuba Bodies?

Cheers,

Dave

FANTASTIC, Broth & Sis, I can see you're excited! I'm excited!
Great to see a sister truck to the "Hornmobile" has surfaced. I think LWB Wasps are a bit like '68 117 Coupes - Only a few ever made! My memory of the Hornmobile was that the longer wheel base & longer tray makes for a better ride - less 'choppy'. But longer = heavier = slower on the hills. My mate Scott visited today & reminded me of the time we dragged a car trailer from Coonabarrabran to Mudgee to retrieve Tracy's Fiat 1800. (You may remember, Monn).
Pretty steady going on the return trip with about 1600 kg on the towbar! Lucky it was only about 170 k's. ;)
Woo-Hoo, we're a 3 Wasp family! :D
I know how long this one's been on the radar, It's nice when they finally come home.
Good work.
Matt.

Thank heavens, aside from the Freeman horn mobile in Sydney ( 1970's, having spending many hours as a passanger, and washing it) , I thought there may be no other sighting of a long wheel base Wasp. What we now need to know i,s were they production from Isuzu, or modified elsewhere, and how many ? would be good too know !
Geoff.

awesome find there gaz!

the Shuba body confirms what we said in that the cab/chassis was sold with a locally supplied body if the purchaser ordered one when new from the Isuzu dealer.

the long wheelbase is rarer than rare.... as i stated elsewhere, Isuzu officials in Japan denied that any Wasp's existed at all, especially outside of Japan, or that enough were even built to be called a "production model".... until mine appeared on the IUA stand at the Sydney Motor Show....
and that in itself poses a problem.... Isuzu have no numbers on how many were ever built. but here in Australia, the late Ken Bloor had figures that showed 122 Wasps were fully imported in 1965, which we all know, and amoungst them were what's thought to be only 3 long wheelbase versions.... but that's an educated guess as the figures show 3 "odd" cars in the numbers so that's all we can think they would be, and also the "hornmobile" was the only one anyone ever knew of till now.

hope this all helps.

There's a rough-ish but original 1000 Coupe on Gumtree Adelaide for $10k this week! I'd go with a 50% discount :)
