Rob,
I feel for you Bud, keep on keeping on, you have surely suffered enough bad luck  you are due for a change in fortune.

Well Bella got home yesterday. She had to spend a week at the NRMA in Balranauld (good bunch of blokes there).

The windscreen succumbed to the vibration of the trip back on the trailer, so I now have to clean the glass out of the car. Okay I was going to have to do that anyway.
The motor is dead, well no compression at least - so rebuild will be needed.
Though one of the Bellett fold (thankyou thankyou) here is going to lend me an engine so that while I'm rebuilding the 1500 I can still take Bella to events from time to time.

Some of you have already seen my post in the engine section.

I will probably fix the rust in the towers before the loan engine goes back in, so stay tuned for those updates ...
I will be looking forward to Christmas and a special prezy arriving.

Anyhow in the meantime have to get back to tidying up everything that got put aside while I was getting Bella ready for Coona.
Keep the faith, the spirit of truck 8-)

Cheers
Rob

Found a replacement motor for the bellett.

Plenty of room for the supercharger and the trubocharger with this baby...

I heard on the grapevine Bella had a rough journey home. I know she'll end up with a hot motor out of this.

This is your opportunity to turn it into a right nang box!!!!!

Why nang!??

Coz when you give it the revs it'll go 'NANG NANG NANG NAAAAAAAAA NAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

etc

Don't fang it! Nang it!

It's too early to post and make sense...

Cheers,

Dave

Thanks guys (and any gals reading).
Yes Bella needs a new engine (I maybe borrowing one for awhile).
Subject to bank balance being repaired (I have not forgotten you Peter, my apologies).

Engine rebuild or replacement is the subject of much consternation at the moment as to which direction I want to take Bella.

Further to direction for Bella my Christmas present to myself won't work in the current format I was considering so a rethink has become necessary.

Suspension and brake changes are being considered as well as some rust repair.

One good thing about the broken windscreen is that I maybe able to repair the crash-pad a lot easier with no window in the way :S

So I will leave things until I do something noteworthy :D

Cheers
Rob

I've been busy of late & only just read the news. Sorry to hear about the events Rob. I'm glad to see the enthusiasm is still strong though. We too had a great time at Coona with the (expanding) Bellett family. No doubt you will get Bella back to the blacktop soon enough. Lets know if you need any bits, we may be able to help.
You seem keen on extra performance, perhaps watch for a twin cam - they do come up now & then.
Keep us posted!
Cheers, Matt.

Hey Robsa,

Nice looking car, it,s good to see you getting stuck into it. Curious - It seems to have discs at the front! Did these come on that car as standard? Thought it was gt's etc that had discs. Would kill for a set of those!

Good luck with the build,

Jeff

jeff.
sedans were all drum brake front.
there was a very rare option available for front discs, and this used GT parts.
these GT discs were also standard on the Bellett Sport.

australia never saw any factory fitted sedans with discs.

i think robSA'a car uses the mitsubishi galant/sigma conversion i wrote of elsewhere.

Yep they came with the car when I got it ... last year ;)

Apparently I have been told she has the Mitsubishi Galant/Sigma discs but when I checked the calipers they seem to be from an 81 Hyundai Excel !?

Bella currently is awaiting funds to continue her development : (

Cheers
Rob

Well it has been awhile between updates.
As some people may know Bella's enigne blew up on the way back from Coona 2010 along with the front windscreen.

Much water has gone under the bridge since then and I have finally found a little enthusiam for Bella.

The photo is of a little bit of kit to improve Bella's handling.
Thank's to PR91 for the info about the configuration.

Cheers
Rob

I now have a windscreen and replacement engine.
I just have to pull the old one out of Bella, tidy up the replacement, do a bit of rust repair in the engine bay and I'm good for the Nationals next year.
Oh and she may get some cosmetic alterations.

Phew  :D

Cheers
Rob
