Hey guys,

I'm going to try to get two Belletts there; the Ratter and the Wasp; both seem to be going OK at the moment (fingers crossed).

The Florian isn't much chop to drive at the moment; it's cranky and needs some work on the clutch. I reckon the previous owner has fiddled with something, as it's never been quite right.

This will be the first year I have entered my Buick Opel by Isuzu; I was initially going to drive that, but I may send the wife in the Buick along with the baby seat and the child.

I am trying to use my Street Machine contacts to see if I can do a Bay to Birdwood article for Unique Cars this year. I know three mates with beige cars; a 1963 Cadillac, a 1969 BMW 2002, a 1973 Ford Escort Mark 1, plus my 1978 Holden Gemini van. Being beige, I'm hoping we can do some kind of beige-related convoy and I can do an article...I already have the title; Beige to Birdwood (in fact, that's ALL I have).

My mate Darry G with the 2002 is a keen photographer, so we should have all bases covered, plus as much as I love Street Machine and the opportunities it's given me, I'm hoping to get across a few different Bauer titles (Wheels and Motor are yet but a dream).

Anyway, I'll know in the next few days if it's a thing. Either way, I'll be Bellett-representin' with some machinery.

Plus I hear a certain Victorian will be bringing his racecar across to participate in the event...

Cheers,

Dave

Sounds like a Richie Benaud tribute in the making...you just need a beige Sunbeam Alpine to top it off!

Hey guys,

Well, I've actually entered four cars.

Things will be a bit split up this year as I've invited a couple of friends to drive the Belletts; they aren't exactly car people, but one said they love old utes (Wasp) and between them they have five kids, so I figure they can spread across the Wasp and the Ratter Bellett.

I've also entered the Buick Opel by Isuzu for my wife to drive with my son in it.

I've entered, for the first time, by Holden Gemini panelvan. I might end up separate to the Bellett guys for the first time; me and four mates are trying to do a "Beige to Birdwood" and have our four beige cars lined up! I was trying it with the angle of writing an article for Unique Cars, but it remains to be seen if they will take an unsolicited submission (having some troubles getting in touch with someone).

The beige cars are:

1969 BMW 2002
1963 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
1975 Ford Mark 1 Escort
1978 Holden TD Gemini panelvan

So we'll see.

We'll organise a hookup closer to the date! I'm normally front and centre with getting the Belletts together, but if it's a bit looser this year, I'm sure we'll make up for it in 2017!!!

Cheers,

Dave
