Re: Dumb questions you were too afraid to ask

Pretty sure just the last year model of zz's (84 I think) had black hammer coat rocker cover and inlet manifold, just as a dress up, no extra power.

Nah, mate. Had this motor for years, picked it up off a guy who went by 'gem' on ozgemini.com. Then picked up the gearbox and other bits and pieces over the years.

fs: G180w in syd

G180w, replaced most of the gaskets (bar the sump), running delco 808. Will sell with close ratio Gemini 5 speed w/tailshaft (even has genuine remote shifter). I have pics and more details if anyone is interested.

Re: 98 octane fuel

As far as I am aware, the only fuel that is legally allowed to have ethanol, are those that are marked as containing ethanol. Which in Australia is only e10 and e85.

Have you made extractor plates for G180 twin cams. Would be interested in one or two of those if you have.

Cheers Craig

Re: Seat replacment.

Found this out a while ago, thought I'd post it up with a pic. Bellett rails will bolt to a Gemini seat but that puts the rails too wide. However, if you peel back the material a bit you will find another set of mounting holes that will make the rails the right distance for a Bellett, pics:

As for the little box, a lot of Japanese cars have a buzzer that goes off at 100km/h, could be that.

Amaroo park sports sedans 1987

Popped up in my youtube, 2 belletts racing here. One mostly white one with the front bar hanging off, possibly from a tangle with a torana and looks like it has Allan written across the windscreen, and a mostly black one that is number 24??

Re: v8 supercars

The main thing i like is that they are putting the fuel cell in front of the axle (about bloody time), theres been at least 2 occasions things could've gone a lot worse that they did.

Re: v8 supercars

I must be one of the few on here that enjoy v8sc and think its one of the more exciting racing categories. COTF as far as I understand is just bringing in more parity and just adding 2 extra body shells (they can build their own motor as well or use 1 of the 2 already in use).

Generalising a bit here, dunno about the 117 but the red tops were generally 2 litres. Did the 2 litre even come with a 4 speed?

Re: 117 coupe PA96 transmission query

If you google image search gemini 4 and 5 speed you can easily see the difference. The 5 speed has an extra bulky section at the bottom of the gearbox directly below the quadrant box.

You'd be surprised Glenn, I used to work in Mulgoa. An at worst 45 min drive from Liverpool (Sydney) where I live and dodging kangaroos was an almost daily experience. I've even got a crinkled drivers door skin on my daily from a coming together with a roo.

Rods are most likely the same length, pretty sure most measurements between g series of the same capacity are the same.
