Re: Suzie Belle

Hello everyone!
A quick update - I ditched the electric fuel pump and restored my original pump. I even retrofitted a fuel filter to fit inside the original one! Now the car is purring. I've sent the gear shift shaft and button, along with the taillight surrounds, off to the plater's for rechroming ...

Re: Suzie Belle

Well all the chrome had fallen off the horn ring, so I just faced it right back and polished it, it looks quite nice. Not as blinging as chrome was though. I'll try that on the tail lamp surrounds and see how it looks then.
Farmer if you have a lock cover, can I buy it?
Also I'll see about the ...

Re: Suzie Belle

Hmm interesting! Well I wonder what used to be there? It's not just empty bolt holes, there are rubbings and markings showing something was once there. I guess I'll never know :)

Re: Suzie Belle

Well something used to be there, I can see something was bolted in under there and has been removed, and the space looks empty.

Re: Suzie Belle

ps looking for decent tail lamp surrounds plus maybe passenger side lens, a driver's side door lock cover, and does anybody know what goes beneath the glovebox? Is there supposed to be a shelf/compartment?

Re: '67 sedan drivers side rear door card

Hi Matt,
Sounds good - I would just use the heavy duty cardboard option and mark it "DO NOT BEND" all over.
That's a great idea, it would feel a lot better to use a crappy card.
I won't be sending handles or anything, I'm going to polish the ones I have.
Thankyou!!

Re: '67 sedan drivers side rear door card

I think OS swap might be a bit too much. Too expensive and more likelihood of damage.
Thankyou though. Hopefully an AU member would like one and I won't have to strip this nice one.

'67 sedan drivers side rear door card

I'm re-upholstering my sedan including the door cards.
The drivers' side rear card seems to be new with plastic sheeting over the vinyl.
It is red vinyl.
It would be a shame to ruin this so if anyone wants it, all they have to do is swap me a poor condition one.
Otherwise I will just go ahead and ...

Re: Side Strip Clips.

To update this thread, I made some enquiries today regarding these clips. They are no longer being produced as a set so whatever is on shelves is the last.
However they may be purchased individually for what works out as roughly the same price. I just ordered 34 clip+rivets at a total cost of $68 ...

Suzie Belle needs bits.

Hi everyone,
Suzie Belle asked me to ask you for the following bits so she feels better.
Driver's side door lock cover
Fuel pipe between pump and carburettor
Fuel filler cap
Maybe a Bellett badge or two, depending on;
a: whether we can find the missing one
b: whether she ever sported a boot lid ...

Re: WANTED, Bellett TOW BAR

Hi, I was going to delete the tow bar on my '67 sedan. It's chrome and in nice condition.
If you want it let me know, otherwise it will just remain as-is or end up in the shed rafters.

**update**
After being in storage under a cover and under cover for a year,
I am pleased to announce that Suzie has come home! She is in fine shape with minimal spiders and bugs. A mouse seems to have lived in her passenger seat for a time.
I have taken the seats to the upholstery place for re ...

Re: Suzie Belle

Bonnet repaired, primed and back on car. Looks great but is still only about 90% good enough - upon return from Europe in July I will start the repairs on the remainder of the damage and put each panel into primer. Then all panels will be aligned, blocked & shaped, re-primed and then painted! After ...

Re: Nikki carburettor help needed!

Cool! Thankyou so much for the help. Now I can leave the carby on the car rather than removing it all again! I did up the fuel pump and did what I could with the old filter - but the pump isn't what it used to be and I think I'll have to install an electric one back near the tank somewhere and put ...

Re: Nikki carburettor help needed!

Sorry for the blurry pic. The bits in question are the brass slotted thing stamped "60" and the corresponding one above it which is darker and has no hole at the top. This picture is post-cleaning.

Nikki carburettor help needed!

I completely disassembled the carburetor from Suzie Belle for a cleanup and new parts kitout.
At the top of each throat there's an air nozzle needle thing about an inch and a half long, with tiny air holes at the base of the needle. One has a hole in the top and one has a hole in the side, near the ...

Re: Suzie Belle

I've had mine ordered in for my Sigma at beaurepaires, bridgestone, bob jane - They're readily available but just require asking for. Well worth the enquiry, as they don't cost much if at all more than normal black ones. These ones I took off my Sigma, cleaned and shined, then put them on Suzie.

Re: Suzie Belle

Hmm. I still need to find a decent fuel filler cap and a 1500 badge. But she looks nice already. Well, to me anyway. I keep a nice cover over her as not too many people enjoy unfinished cars being on display.
