Re: Elf and Safety

Have not been in a position to post anything lately. Put " The Beast" in dry storage with good intentions, but life being what it is things have not worked out that way. Now due to health reasons I have come to a grinding halt and so has the project.
Not looking for your sympathy or help but am ...

Re: Elf and Safety

No new pics at the moment, pieces everywhere and in all states of assembly. In the process of moving the whole project indoors.
Have located an original series diesel motor in excellent going order (zero cost), I just had to arrange transport (two cartons). Lots of fiddly bits and pieces to ...

Re: Elf and Safety

Am still plugging away doing a lot of the minor bits(but importatant) like getting all the brake cylinders working along with the clutch. Looks like I have located a GL201 motor in Perth, just waiting for another person to verify it. Lots of sanding and rust proofing at the moment, very unglamorous ...

Re: Elf and Safety

Dismantled engine covers removed radiator and gave everything a bit of a clean up then I noticed some pieces didn't fit quite right. Some brackets were not in use anymore and some cables and wiring looked out of place. On closer inspection and a bit of sleuthing I discover THE TRUCK is fitted with a ...

Re: Elf and Safety

The more I delve into THE TRUCK the more finicky little quality detail I find. The throttle linkage under the cab is a real work of art as are the gear linkages. Must have taken some time and effort to install. Discovered a 12 volt power outlet under the dash(work light outlet???) The windscreen ...

Re: Elf and Safety

Re: Elf and Safety

A couple of more pictures, been busy finishing the interior of a 1980 caravan. Need it out of the way to concentrate on THE TRUCK. Just love the solid thunk of the doors when you close them, makes me all nostalgic. I am reliving a past life, obviously being repaid for leading such a wholesome life ...

Re: Gift Horse

Was led to this site whilst trying to track down information about an Isuzu Elf I have been given. Have already started dismantling for repair. If anyone has any information, hints, parts, abuse, jokes , ridicule or chocolate digestive biscuits I am prepared to share. As near as I can ascertain it ...
