Re: isuzu sports

Went to Eagle Sayama (the previous location) many times when I lived in Japan. It was a great place, with plenty of cars for sale (including 2 x imported Holden Gemini wagons), parts cars and knowledgeable staff. The variety of spare parts they had, both new and used, was amazing. I gave them my ...

Translation is as follows:

This mark is a symbol of the strength of Isuzu Motors and Fuji Heavy Industries. You can buy a Bellett or a Subaru 1000 at dealers who display this mark. You can also have your Bellett or Subaru 1000 serviced at garages which display this mark. The red ...

Re: 78/79 model 117 coupe on ebay

XT is the base no frills model and the two stars on the boot lid indicate that it has the G200 SOHC engine but with no fuel injection. Interestingly, it has power steering which was not an option for the XT model but in the later years it was possible to order options contrary to what the catalogue ...

Re: 1967 Isuzu Bellett 1300 brochure - Japanese - 8 pages

Can you explain to me how that works? That would greatly assist me in dating my brochures!

Basically the Japanese calendar system is based on the Emperor's reign. The reign of Emperor Hirohito was known as the 'Showa' period and started in 1925 until his death in 1989. The brochure shows the date ...

Re: Where has www.eagle-sayama.com gone?

Today I visited Isuzu-Sports in Hamura City. Isuzu-Sports is the remains of Eagle Sayama which has closed down. Isuzu-Sports had about 25 Isuzu vehicles for sale with a few nice Belletts but the rest were in poor condition. Having visited Eagle Sayama many times previously, today's visit was very ...

Re: IOM Japan 2009

Thanks for shinning some light on that one JT191. The question is what, if any significance does this "cheeky" emblem have to Isuzu.

B.
The emblem is based on the Japanese (Okinawa) shisa or lion-dog.

There is always a pair of these found on rooftops, doorways or gates facing away from the ...

Re: Exterior Pieces Part Numbers

When ordering parts from a Japanese Isuzu dealer for older Isuzu models, there are 5 possible responses:

In stock at the current dealer.
In stock at another dealer.
In stock at Isuzu main parts warehouse.
Not currently available.
No longer available.

Not currently available means that Isuzu can ...

Only got a brochure picture at the moment. The Giugiaro Edition featured a unique interior based on a design done by Giugiaro for a Lancia concept car in 1978.

1980 Isuzu 117 Coupe Giugiaro Edition

Here are some pictures of my 117 Coupe. I bought it in Japan in 2002, restored it while I was living there and then in 2004 shipped it back to New Zealand.

Re: 1967 Isuzu Bellett B 1500 brochure - Japanese - 8 pages

The 13th Tokyo Motor Show was held in October 1966 with the theme of 'My Car' and featured the debut of the Toyota Corolla and Nissan Sunny. The average Japanese family was now able to afford a 1000cc – 1500cc family vehicle and the 'my car' boom had begun. After the successful release of the new ...

Re: What are the differences between the GT and GTR?

Perhaps it was just marketing hype from Isuzu as comparative specifications in the Isuzu catalogues show the GTR as having 46 litres and other models as having 40 litres.

The Chrysler 318 and Chrysler Charger were sold by Mitsubishi between 1971-1972.

There are some very good Japanese sites on the Bellett. I am fluent in Japanese so happy to provide translations of any sites or brochures etc.

I have some further info on the Bellett B so will post it in a new ...

Hi 117Coupe,

That's a few more than I would have even thought was possible! How did you get that info?

Cheers

246 is the number quoted on several Japanese websites.

In contrast, Mitsubishi sold far fewer of their Chrysler 318 (Valiant) and Chrysler Charger models (both imported from ...

Available colours for GTR are shown as 'Magnolia White' and 'Bluebell Metallic'. Under 'Options' it lists "GTR type stripes and black bonnet avaliable on GTR and 1800 Sports."

The date for this brochure is shown on the last page bottom left corner. Looks like 43.7 (?) which would mean July 1968.

Another difference stated in the Japanese book 'Isuzu Piazza, 117 Coupe, Bellet GT' is that the GTR fuel tank was 46 litres and the GT was 40 litres.

Isuzu only managed to sell 246 Statesman Devilles between late 1973 and 1976.
