Missy has fronted to the operating table :? The twin cam in this car i bought in 1989 and the car sat for 18 years mid restoration while life and finances got in the road . The issue here is the engine was never a healthy one but the more i drove it the more it proved me wrong :P. with a few interstate trips nationals, nrma motorfest and a couple of interstate club trips :!: she returned home last sunday on three cyl's. I didn't bother working out why it's time to bite the bullet and give it a freshen up i.e rings, bearings head work, new timing chains ect. I have had a set of manifolds made to take webers so the gt carbs will make there way to another small project ;) more about this at a later date ;) While the engine is out i hope to respray the engine bay and repair stone chips to the bonnet and lh guard re chrome the cam cover and tidy up a few things.
Missy is wanting to keep up with rufus [Lewis's car]

NIce looking car that one. How do you go with gakets for these ?
I can't find any to rebuild my 1600GT motor.
Also has anyone fitted the GT twin carbs to a sedan or florian head ? And what was required ?

This is only a small project :) it was a huge one back in the late 80's.

67gt :!: 16oo head gaskets should be available we only ordered some from repco a couple of months back :?: g151 manifold gasket will be wrong. gt carby's you will need a manifold :?: and the spacing for su's are not the same as su's but can be modified :?: to take gt carb's if you find 1.

Gt Orph,
I have the twin carbs and manifold for the Gt (spare) and was curious about fitting to the Wasp. It has what looks like an alloy Florian head (square inlet ports), but doesn't quite look the same at the mounting bolts ??

well the engine is back in the car and i had it running yesterday,it was in a bad state with the block needing sleeving and a few valves replaced with new modified toyota valves before she fired to life again. I fitted a pair of webers to it this time and had to move the brake junction to the fire wall to fit the air cleaners so a brake bleed today a few little tidy ups and a bonnet and i will have three gt,s on the road :D this day only took 22 years to acheive  Nah im happy with that to be honest i thought ol yella was only a one day dream. The cam covers and a few bits are due back from being rechromed so it looks a little ugly with the odd bit's on her.
Liz has put her foot down now i have to do Warwick next but i will be side tracked a little with Bruce the first chance i get as i cant see myself driving a bellett auto i plan to fit a gt head twin carbs from missy and a gt gearbox and gt cluster gauges and console and fully rego this one and reduce missy to club rego. I need 1 car with full rego in case i get a urge to go for a drive ;)
qld club rego we can only drive on club trips or 15kms from home so i keep 1 fully regoed.
