Hi guys thanks so much for all your. Encouragements it has taken too long however I got there at last funny the last bellett I actually drove was when I went to Adelaide and Dave let me drive his gt in the concourse. And that was a hoot I have the bellett bug again and now it’s on full rego can drive all the time if need be although no power steering and air and all the modern tricks makes it a concentration to steer. Ha ha it’s a long awaited experience . Here’s a full frontal shot with badges. See you on the road merry Xmas to all belletters. Cheers davo

So beautiful Davo, and great to see you out and about. Like you say, you can drive anytime, but spring and autumn suit best. Now you need to get to the Nationals so she can meet all her cousins.
Fantastic!
Cheers, Matt.

yes its ''on the road again'' .just doing the local runs getting familiar with it ….silly question what fuel should I run on or put in that addidtive ??its not pinging ..just to be sure to be sure .ha ha

I don't use e10 mate because it shrank my fuel filter bowl. (So much that it gripped the element tightly enough to seal off the fuel flow!)
A boaty explained that they don't use it in boats as the ethanol can separate out on standing and effect plastics and rubber.
I put 95 in Doris now and add 1ml per litre of Valvemaster. The additive provides a cushion between the valves and their seats to prevent valve seat erosion.(Which lead used to do). 95 seems not to go stale as readily as 91, perhaps because it generally contains about one tenth the ammount of sulphur.
Cheers, Matt.

I only run 98 myself (with the exception of rural roadtrips where it's not always available) with a spash of valve saver. Although his new heads have since had hardened seats put in them so not really req

I use 98 as well. Have to resort to a lower octane on the road. Similar to "Sticky's" situation.
I vaguely remember that you have a 160 or 161 engine installed. If you go to get it tuned, get them to tune it
on Florian or early Chev LUV specs. Valve clearance is different to early 150 engines. Also get them to do a gas
analysis on the manifold. Makes a difference.
And another thing. Anybody that has a alloy head to check that the studs that retain the tappet cover are not
being pulled out when you tighten them. Same stud holds the rocker shaft post down. Every time it stretches
it changes the gap on the valve tappet. Only way to fix it is to Hellicoil all the studs. Big job but can be done
whilst head is on engine block.
