   | It has been suggested that a waterpump of a Chevy Luv 1972 could fit onto a Bellett. The LUV pumps are still available here in the US.

I had a request from oz_toffa who wants to try this out.

I ordered one and took some pictures which I will post here for a comparison.
Most of the bolt holes seem to match up and the actual pump housing is a very similar shape.
The outlet is in a very different place, but I would think a flexible hose would work.

I will leave it up to oz to actually try and fit it on.

I'll see how adept I am at loading up the pictures here.

   | I forgot to mention anything about pricing. This particular LUV pump I got was about US$32 (24 plus 8 for shipping to US address).
We have not yet ventured to see how much it is going to be to ship over the pond, but I suspect around as much as the thing cost.

   | This is a closer up of the original Bellett pump. One thing to note is that between holes 2 and 3 in the picture there is another hole.
On my engine there is no bolt in that hole. I mention this because on the LUV pump (next picture) there is no hole there.

   | Here is the LUV pump. (Bomba de LUV in spanish, has a nice sound to it Note the direction of the outlet. Also note that hole 1 does not exist. That may be the real sticky point, but I think it could fit still.

   | One last picture here, there was a gasket that came with the new one.I scanned a copy of it and hopefully this will come out as actual size
 (print on 8.5x11 paper).

   | I have a chev LUV water pump also here (at home that is) but it has a boss on the back area of the water outlet i think. Can't recall if Bellett has that also.? _________________

   | I had realized I also should have taken pictures of the backside. While Glenn was busy replying, I was doing that.
Yes there is a hole in the backside of the outlet that would need to be plugged.
I suspect you could find or make something to screw in that would plug it.
 (see pictures to follow).

   | thanks for all your help there, Doug.
