Hi from Tassie
New to forum so of course I jump straight to spare parts page
Don't have a home computer so limited access so apologies
Will try to get to Nationals to make contacts
Well I am in desperate need of a late model aluminium square port head for my club car racer project
Mine has cracked near 1 & 2 spark plugs - new one to me
Any help would be great
Many thanks
James

Hello James,
I'm checking my parts pile. Gotta be one somewhere!
Cheers, Matt.

Hi James

It's great to see another Tassie member of the Forum. That means there are now 3 of us :D :D :D You've just increased our contribution by 50%.

I hope you have some luck with the Al head. What possibility of having it welded?
I wish I could find some for spares, as I have later models and no spare heads. I notice that you have 66 model Belletts, I thought they were cast iron heads. There will be others with more technical knowledge than me on this matter, but will the later model Al head fit the earlier block? One would hope so.

Welcome and good luck with your search.

YP

Hi YP
I was told to keep an eye out for you as we together are flying the club car banner
Greetings
Well '66 bodies but 1 has a 'warm' g150 bottom end, 1600 gemini pistons, with GT head, carbies and gearbox
Other one being my 'car in need' has a G161 bottom end (sleeved, balance, CP pistons etc) and hopefully Florian head
So yes many parts are interchangeable
Will be great to meet up and talk all things Bellett
Cheers
Jamea

Hi James it seems like we've been doing lots of similar engine building stuff. I've sent you a Private Message with my mobile number.

Found!
This is actually the head that was on Aunty Mary when I got her, but the gunk in the water jackets was causing her to run hot. So I had the spare head recoed, and its all sweet.

Its the one at the back. The other one is a GT head for comparison.

Again with the GT, small intake ports is Florian.

Plug side.

So it will need a reco, but has been hardness tested and OK.
But what to ask? Hmmm....how about.......Make me an offer I can't refuse! ;)

Let me know if you think its OK,
Cheers, Matt.

Great to see the Tassie "club" growing! You blokes will have to crooze.
YP, I reckon a lot of Florians donated their mechanics to Belletts years ago. I've even heard it said, "Florians? Pull the Motors & boxes out fer yer Bellett, then chuck em in Port Phillip bay for artificial reefs!"
Sadly, possibly why Florians are so rare now......

Cheers, Matt.
