The other day I was explaining the priority to Tracy and Rhys, and we all agreed, its lucky I'm a young bloke! The most important thing is, pick a doable job and do that. Step by step.
All good fun.
Cheers, Matt.
Supercharged Bellett?? 8-) Next you'll want donkey drinking out of the methanol trough

Dead right Matt!!! Thankfully for me "Gunna" doesn't mean I was in the artillery.

We all need to be carefully we stay "young".

No methanol for Donkey. Just a blow through carby setup on pump fuel
He does get a shot of single malt scotch poured over his bonnet from time to time though (especially after a fabulous road trip with his family)

One of my other Bellett projects will be sucking down the methanol though (if I ever finish it as it's 4th in the projects line ) as it will be putting out around 1500HP via a 2J turbo :D

These may be interesting Stickman
Draw through with SU carb - Gemini
Blow through with Weber - Gemin
They are Gemini but gives an idea of how much room superchargers take
Plus added challenge that Belletts are not cross flow
I like the photo of a Datsun.... Check out where the SU is at the back
This may well work
For the Bellett
Cheers

Yeah she's gunna be a tight fit that's for sure.
The plan is to remove the battery tray (battery to the boot) and alternator is going to be relocated also (possibly to the other side of the engine ??) but we are still mucking around with a few other options and ideas.

That little Datto with the SU at the back is food for thought, although it is the hottest part of the engine bay in that back corner.

Donkey has had a "slight" alternator issue for sometime now (3 months)
Believe it or not I'm still driving with it like this :o when the other bottom mount breaks off I'll replace it but until then....... it works sweet as
The broken alloy mount has rubbed itself all smooth and shiny

And the rattly squeek doesnt annoy you? Just put another one on there! Go oooon!
Mary broke a top adjuster mount on the way home from the nats. Amazingly noisy, but I didnt have one with me. Thankfully stayed in place. I changed it soon after we got home, much better.
I suppose I'm old, so the rattles get to me.

Cheers, Matt.

I never noticed any extra rattly squeeks over all the other noises Donkey makes.
You need to come for a ride in Donkey Matt, then you will know what I mean.
The fact that here is no interior, no bungs in floors, no bailey channel rubber for windows, holes in the firewall, no aircleaner on carby....... the list does go on  all means there is a LOT of noise riding in Donkey.

I have another alternator to go in but this one still has some life left in it ;)

Hmm, I see! I think I have some idea as Shrek has no interior trim except the seat, no bailey channel rubber and no door seals. The glovebox catch even rattles. There were no floor bungs or mat, but I put them in. So yeah, pretty noisy.
I'm getting old and soft, so I want to replace that stuff before Gnoo Blas. But the outside will stay all krusty, I would like a pic of him with Donkey. Hopefully you will still be able to be there.
Cheers, Matt.

Rattley Squeaks....Muoahahaha

Like Blue Beastie......Extractors and hotdogs take care of that......oh and AC/DC on the 6x9's :P 8-). And if that's not enough had the experience of riding in Daves Wasp on the weekend. Total Joy.

Yeah Matt.....all young around here, it's what keeps us ticking.

It would be actually..... but it will blow my $600 budget for the build   (I've spent $325 so far so only $275 left to play with and my mate Bruce and I are determined to bring it in on budget  )

You might be happy to know Matt that I replaced Donkeys busted alternator 3 weekends back :P
Just thought of it now while starring at the ceiling listening to redneck tunes (laid up with torn back muscles past 2 weeks)
Redneck music always makes me daydream about Donkey

Ouch! Sorry to hear that mate. I have a back injury that flares now and then, its no fun.
Good onya for the maintainence, I have to do a gennie swap on Shrek before Gnoo Blas too. That light has been on for most of the year. Gotta keep him sparking!
Cheers, Matt, and get well soon.

Donkey received some well needed loving this week.
His rear shocks have been dead for about 18mths so I've finally pulled my finger out and gave him some new ones.
He drives like a new car again. Next on his pampering list is to replace the distributor which is so flogged out that it can not and will not hold any timing or points gap. It advances and retards anything up to 5deg when ever it feels like it. I had to start bending the points to create enough gap :|
I found a good spare one in my stas that I will put in with an electronic ignition kit I picked up a while ago, so that should sort that issue out.
I also gave him a wheel change again. I have put the 200B steelies back on that I had refurbished a year or so ago. The rears are widened to 7" with semi slicks and fill the rear arch right up.
Just need to lower the front a couple of inches now

I'll take a pick to show ya's in the next couple of days.

Donkey and his 4 wheeled family are moving house....... again
Hopefully this time it will be a little more permanent than the past few places

I have always joked with family and friends that the perfect home for me is a 6 car shed with a bedroom attached.
Well I almost got my wish.
I'm moving into a 4 car shed with a fully self contained 1 bedroom flat, extra storage space and an upstairs open plan office space with kitchenette :P

Best part is..... I will be 10mins down the street from the Orphanage

So much excitement !!!

Fantastic! I hope it is a permanent location for you, has to be time consuming all that moving! Out if the bedroom, into the shed, you can do a little bit anytime!
Have fun!
:D Matt.
