Re: All Japan Day 2012
should be good to go, swapped carby with another i had sitting around runs way better when warm but it sucks to warm up because the choke isnt working right yet! (i will get the origional carb reconditioned eventually), greased all the grease points on it, cleaned it once or twice! has a new battery.
still want to balance the squarish tyres, wheel align it, sort the side gaurd indicators, fill it with petrol, clean it inside and out again and several other things i havent thought of yet!
would love to get a spare tyre the correct size so it sits in the side where it should so i can show of the boot trim properly!
but otherwise i think im ready to line it up with all the other isuzus! looking forward to catching up with everyone there!

Great effort "Flibbs". Sounds like the squadron will be an awesome line up.
So what's the dealio ? Do we just rock in and the organisers will place us as we get there ? Is that the go ?

Re: All Japan Day 2012
Excellent line-up there gents. LOve the various colours of the cars.
The GT/R looks great, Dave. Any pictures under the hood ? Looks like you got a real nice car for the money.
We had the local Japanese day today in Dandenong. Very warm day here although cooled a bit near mid day. Unfortunetely only 2 cars there. I left after 12pm so more may have arrived. I hope so becase they looked pretty lonely !
Craigs GT and Brett's Wasp.
I counted 10 Prince Skylines though. One of their members told me a record turnout. One was for sale at $35,000.

Re: All Japan Day 2012
I'll get some pics up tomorrow.
The GTR has finally had its reveal although a few guys saw it on Facebook before it was removed, plus some may have seen it on a Bring A Trailer email a few weeks ago.
Despite the lack of a W, the car should be genuine; if it was a standard GT it would have a pr95 chassis prefix.
Good night!

Re: All Japan Day 2012
Very nice Dave, is it 1600 or 1800? has it been compiianced yet? If so what did you have to do to it? mine has had first inspection and they want inertia reel lap sash belts in the front and standard lap sash in the rear, mirrors relocated to doors, amber turn signals rear and clear turn signals front, most has been completed, had a bit of rust in towers, now being repaired and in the paint shop.
Cheers Geoff

Re: All Japan Day 2012
Yeah guys it was a great day; weather was better than expected; (still hot, but not so sunny which was good for burnage!
Big thanks to my mates Darren and Dave Newbury for grabbing a car each, plus of course RobSA and his friend Jill for braving the dangers of the Wasp!
Many of my photos are pretty similar to the ones above, so I've just included some other angles.
What an awesome Isuzu turnout! 10 cars! Woot! I have to admit, the only reason I aimed to get as many of my own there as I could was because Iron Chef had promised an Isuzu section. Otherwise I think I would have been content taking one (or two).
I put a roofrack on the Ratter... it's not attached, but the benefit of bringing the Wasp was I could throw it in there. It's got a stack of vintage crap on the roof, including my Dad's old tennis and squash racquets!
I am so glad MrFlibbles aka Paul was able to bring his Florian; I have never seen two Florians in the same place! His was about 80% as good as mine... maybe more... but was only 25% of the price! Awesome buy! I was really impressed with the dark, dark blue interior too!
A rare moment of sunshine on the Isuzus...
Again, Florians. What can I say except
So here is the Bellett GTR. Yes, I think it is genuine and I've got no reason to assume otherwise. Per above, it's got the PR91 chassis # when I GT of that year should be a PR95 (aka 1800 OHC). Yes, it's got the DOHC engine and believe it or not, I forgot to take a photo of the engine bay yesterday. I've since taken one in the shed today, just for you guys (see further below).
While many knew of the car, I wanted to kind of 'reveal' it here at the show. Might sound a bit naff, but I've never really had anything revealable before! Having said that... it still needs some work for rego. A lot more work that I initially thought (rust, paint, tail lights, rust and probably some more rust).
So many Isuzus! And two sets of twins! Both 1969-models (the Belletts and the Florians)
pa_man brought his Bellett automatic. Amazing to think that the most common Bellett model (1967.5) made up only 20% of the classic Isuzs at the show! I love those fakey deluxe wheel trims that fit behind the hubbies; I've got a set of mesh ones on the ratter.
Bellett GT bums are so cool. Note flow-thru ventilation. Mmmmm venty.
RatBellett piled sky-high. I love this car.
Florian bums!
Cheesy Florian fronts - Paul claims dominance as his car has retained the nose badge.
ye olde Wasp. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the last unrestored, unmodified Wasp in existence? The other Ruston Wasp has been modified in the engine and interior but is unrestored outside.
Here's one of my favourites; the Isuzu-built, Buick-sold, Opel-badged Buick Opel by Isuzu. Basically a left-hand-drive Gemini, but with a factory 1817cc motor (Geminis are 1584cc) and Jatco auto trans (Geminis had Trimatics).

Re: All Japan Day 2012
Here's the promised pic of the engine.
It's running twin Solexes and has the factory extractors as well.
The twin carburettors are running cleanable K&N filters rather than the factory airbox, unfortunately, but it is definitely throaty!

Re: All Japan Day 2012
Of course, not all cars there were Isuzus....
Here are the best of the rest!
This Chrysler Galant coupe was alleged to be a one-owner item; it still sported a dealer sticker from country Mannum on the rear window, however the new owner has fitted some JDM bits (grille and tail lights especially) and a mighty 2.6 litre Astron motor. No replacement for displacement!
This very tidy 180B SSS was one of about four or five at the event. The owner also owns this restored Silvia (below).
How low can you go? Straight into the ground if you're running a full set of bags!
When I questioned the JDM Sunny badges, the driver said that it was one of the first batch; they were only available in 2-door sedan form and had a different grille and Sunny badges to the regular Datsun 1000.
This tidy Datsun 1200 ute was a 1983-build - very deceptive! It has been bought by Bellett.net moderator Antus' girlfriend and was entered by him.
Never thought I'd say it, but this is the coolest Datsun 120Y ever. It rocked a smooth new paintjob, JDM Sunny badges, Jap-spec alloy wheels and a monster SR20. Who would have thought a 120Y could be so cool!??!?
I spied this late-model Mitsubishi Scorpion on its way out. It was VERY tidy.
Moderator Ross has bought this Prince Skyline GTB. It's a bit rough, but it's running and registered (running only after an epic effort by Ross to get it back on the road again after an epic fail of the cooling system).
I wondered aloud where you get alloy wheels with an early Subaru PCD from... according to the owner, the answer is Japan! This Vortex looked good on old-style mags. Man, these cars are a freakshow!
This little KE20 was running vintage alloy wheels and a blow thru vintage turbo! (or was it suck-thru? Whatever)
This Celica had a wide-body kit fitted but not yet painted. How wide? Those tyres are 315 R17s! THREE ONE FIVES!
A Ferrari 458 Italia snuck in.... and was about to be booked by a sticker-licker until it was found he knew the organisers and was granted a pass to stay. While most modern cars are not very cool, the 458 Italia is just breathtaking. This was the second one we'd seen today - a black one rounded the nearby roundabout and gave it the beans, only to be pulled over by a copper for undue noise!!!!
I was hoping the coppers wouldn't get too enthusiastic about booking people (thankfully they weren't) but I didn't want to risk it, so I legged it.

Re: All Japan Day 2012
must say the best pic of the day goes to Honda Z50 trying to move with a, larger than life, payload.
great day guys, great turn out, loads of work to get there and the standard 67 auto sedan seemed to get nearly as much attention as the newest GT (R)
think everyone older than 40 recognized the tail lights of the 67 as the one they remember
roll on AJD 2013
