yeah, i never heard of any other Sports here except a 4 door which pops up in these threads somewhere although very rusty. I hope there's nothing missing as spares will be a problem if they are.

It has now been picked up from seller. Not sure i can wait so long to see it ! :) Will be counting the days........

small update, now have copies of some documents,
both cars are 1972 models. Main car is October build or 1st reg mth, not sure which. The other is April.

Hopefully might get some pictures later when packed in container also.

still waiting for import approval.... it's only 2 weeks+ so far........(you have to wonder why a rubber stamp takes so long)

For the first time, I get to see the LH side of the Sport. Looks good.......

I think i might prefer the wheels to have a polished rim. Not too sure about all black although it seems to be the current trend.

Seems there are many hundreds of applications in before me for import approval. Just have to wait.

Does anybody know much about the Sport models? The second car seems to have black window frames. Possibly done by somebody over the chrome or was there 2 versions of the Sport ???

it's a pity none came here when they were new. The short bonnet and vents looks good.....

mine's not here yet though :( :(

some how i think there must have been a 'deluxe' version of the Sport ? With the side trim and chrome windows ? The other car has black windows and no trim i think.

great, hope they (Govt) get cracking !

I thought the picture with all the 'junk' around needed a clean up ;) ;)

She (need to give a name i guess) looks very good in the picture so i hope no real surprises.

She also appears to be lowered so no need to find any rear spring swap etc for that. The rear has a stage '3' i think, transverse spring in it too.

do you have the original air cleaner box on your PR95? did you manage to find any air cleaner element to fit it ?
or adapt something?

No, I could not find anything, I have had a pair of extentions made and will be fitting 1600 gt air cleaners, they will not fit the later carbys as they are wider.
With Canberra, they do not let you know when it has been approved, the permit will turn up in the mail,
I paid mine by credit card, first I realalised that it had been approved is when they took the money from the account.
Keep waiting like an expectant father

Cheers Geoff

OK ON AIR CLEANERS. I was wondering of one of the later flat types could be cut down to fit. eg one off a Commodore etc ?
I have one here anyway i can initially fiddle with without going out to buy and try. It might need a spacer made though to lift it up a bit and stop it being pulled inwards.

ok too on the approvals. I prpobably won't get the cert direct as it will be via a 3rd party but i am sure i will know asap after it arrives.
There are many hundreds in front of me. Actually was surprised so many. Had no idea that so many cars were being imported, especially in this current tight financial climate.

Yeah, the whole thing is a load of crap, as there are really no restrictions and it is really a rubber stamp,
but I suppose you have to feel sorry for those poor Bastards in Canberra trying to justify a JOB.

Good news Glenn.

Just a possible hint: Gary Carter's 117 is needing ball joints even though they were fine for rego last year. The suggestion has been made that it might be due to water being forced into them when it was steam cleaned on import. Apparently this is done to remove any nasties. It is certainly extremely clean under there.
So perhaps ensure front end bits are dried out & well greased up once you get it.

Cheers mate, excitement: Building!
Matt.

Good idea and will do it. Car comes with new set of rubbers too so change them as the clean probably buggers them.
