Yeah JT, all I can say is I'm glad we don't have those restrictions here. Companies here reward claim free years with things like maximum no-claim bonus for life regardless of how many claims are made from then on. (With AAMI, after 8 years claim free.) Agreed values are generally more than you could sell the car for. Companies here are realising that it's better to pay out on a claim quickly & get you into a replacement car. A good experience fosters loyalty, and Aussies seem to be quite brand loyal.

Yep Luke, I should get some whistlers, can only help.

Mary is actually with NRMA Classic, but Doris is with Shannons. I like to support any company which caters for us old car heads. Bonus with NRMA C is my breakdown assist is upgraded to the top level, which gets me tilt-trayed home or to my destination if the car can't be repaired at no cost.

Davo, the premium for $5,000 cover on a Bellett with Shannons is about $90 for club rego cars. The premium for $5,000 on a Florian on FULL rego is about $190. This cover is for recreational use. It is not for commuting to work, but most other scenarios are covered.

I'll post pics of the repairs once they're done,
Cheers, Matt.
