Looking forward to this event! Will be great to see some Belletts in the mix of Jap cars :)

Wonder if there will be a Toyota 2000GT like we had in SA a couple of years back?

Down to 9 more sleeps before the big day! I'll be honest, I'm nervous.

If you can't wait for the day itself to score yourself a Classic Japan t-shirt or lanyard, or are unable to make it on the day but would still like one, we can help you with that! T-shirts & lanyards are For Sale via Ebay, with all funds raised being donated to The Fred Hollows Foundation (http://www.hollows.org.au/) . You can find them here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321251509468

Was really looking forward to it as we had to miss the Adelaide Nats. due to a clash with the World Rally Champs. at Coffs Harbour and now at the last minute a family reunion has been organised for the Classic Jap weekend ---------- and no, the family would not shift the reunion to Como Park ! Was going to bring a couple of Jap Classics this year , one of them pretty rare and unusual but it will all have to wait until next year.
To all those who can go , I know you will enjoy it,
KB

Gav, Ross and myself will be sleeping at the Burvale.

Our aim is to get drunk, then roll out of bed at 7:29 in readiness for 7:30 meeting!

Looking forward to seeing some VICJDM!

Sad to hear KB, but you can only do what you can do. :( Next year!

For those of you who plan on attending Classic Japan this Sunday at Como Park, please take note! If you were planning to take either of the Citylink Tunnels as part of your route, you may wish to rethink that. Both tunnels will be closed for Maintenance/Re-Surfacing works from 9pm on Saturday the 30th of November until 9am on Sunday the 1st of December. They might finish early, I wouldn't plan on it so best to find another way, see you there!

For more information, please check the Citylink website here: http://www.citylink.com.au/News.asp

Hi Glenn,

Not really; I've asked KJB if he can baby sit the rig; he's not going to be there, as you know, but from what I've seen, he's got the space!

Don't mind driving the GTR from St Helens...

However, if you're on the west side of Melbourne and have the space, I would be happy to drive that bit further with aircon and stereo comforts (ie nothing that is found in a Bellett GT).

Cheers,

Dave

I spoke to Dave on the phn yesterday, Brett. I offered him park space but its more convenent to leave it on the west side to save extra km and tim etc.

Wow, what a Day. 8 Bellett's, One Wasp and one Florian all in a convoy driving to the Japan Show where we parked all in a line together. Many nice comments from lookers about our attendance and the cars.

It was fantastic to see Gricey and Dave make the long treck over for the show. That's dedication ! I think Dave will have some aerial pictures too, to show.

Apprently over 300 Cars of all Japanese brands and a few never seen before. Quite a few Mighty boys and Honda 360's too.

One that stood out for for me was an immaculate Datsun 1600. Clean and very well done. No exotic engine but a very tidy engine bay and a nice set of 4 wheel disks. I tried to find the owner to see what he had fitted but no luck. There were also a couple of the 2 door versions of the 1600 which I don't think were ever sold here originally.

A few more pics. This Galant and Mightyboy (turbo) was pretty nice too.

The general shot is only part of the total number of cars.

This Honda had its own little 50cc commuter in the back.

an observation..... many of the Club Permit plated cars were heavily modified. Vic Roads here is apprently going to tackle that with a new permit scheme for modified cars but no word on 'when'.
