Just looking to see what is about the place. I've got a shed full of doors, bonnets, engines etc and realised that I have enough to build a car but no car to bolt it all on to.

Does anyone (ideally in Adelaide but will look elsewhere especially Melbourne) have a shell minus engine/interior that is doing nothing or better yet getting in the way? I'm trying to avoid having to weld up too much rust so want the rear guards, sills and floor to be good. Behind the front guards can be dodgy but not too much ;)

Anyway, let me know what you've got kicking around. As I said, looking at shells only to build back up as the budget is pretty tight on this one.

Thanks!
R.

want something unique? Might be persuaded to part with a spare 72 Sports.

Warms my heart that this little fellow may be born again.
Thanks for making the long drive, and it was great to have you visit.
Cheers, Matt.

Hello Farmer and all the Belletters on the forums,

Matt I just wanted to give you an update on the old shell. The shell, Rosco and I made it back in one piece, although a few tie down straps wore through on its 15 hour journey back to Adelaide. And lets just say a Bellett with no valanace, grill or bonnet does not improve the fuel economy of the 6ltr V8 dragging it across the country ;)

But since it's been back the 300ZX has been evicted from the shed and we have started work on it. Initial rust treatment has been done with wire brushing and Fertan rust convertor. The large patch of rust on the rear passenger 1/4 has been ground back, primed and filled. And we have done a mock up of the guards, valanace, bonnett and wheels that are all coming together to rebuild this old girl.

Oh and pictured is the 1600 Florian motor that is going in it. I thought you might like that!!

Cheers, g0speed (bart)

Thanks again to Matt for his hospitality too, it was great to catch up with you, your family and Garry plus see your extensive collection!

Between Bart and myself we should be able to keep everyone updated but I think from here we might start a build thread to keep all the pics together :)

Cheers,
R.

please do start a build thread, looks like you may have this done in a reasonably short time?

Great news that you've made a start!
Thanks for letting us know, and I very much approve of Florian power! Its the classic teardrop with the choice dash, and the smooth 5 bearing with 1600cc torque. Bazinga!

To the build thread....

Cheers, Matt.
