Just a little update on isabell project. We had it running it WAS driveable it went to the exhaust shop and stoped on the way home for a hood lining. All was positive until we started it to put it back in the shed.A new noise knock, knock could be heard now we had a muffler.LONG STORY SHORT out it comes stripped it down it looks like our ebay motor had been rebuilt a bearing picked up on number 3.We sent the block away to be honed polished the crank head rebuilt new rings and bearings we will have all back tomorrow to start bolting it back together as we are running out of time the car has gone for interior while we rebuild the engine. It will sill hopefully be at the jap nats.

Damn that would be so frustrating.
Glad to hear it not a major problem by the sound of it.
GT looks really nice, will look much better when it not on a truck though.

Cheers

At last, the time has come to go see the Department of Transport (Bastards incorporated) to get Isabel back on the road after 27 years of retirement, Will take my lunch and thermos of coffee as they will take most of the day to see what obstacales they can come up with and what spanners they can thow in the works, should at least be on the road before Coona.
See how we go.

The answer to your question B on single head lights is that the car belongs to Geoff his opinion on these lights differ to mine. Where I PREFER twins i dont mind single.
Man i could get myself into trouble here :?

one of the most beautiful GT's around i reckon! can't wait to have a closer look in a few weeks.... with a judging sheet.... bribes willingly taken tho!
seriously tho, great job guys. looks a million bucks. colour, wheels, white walls, trim, the overall stance, everything spot on.

with the single light front.... ever thought of a GT-R styled version, like my GT now has?

i agree, the single's don't look as good as the twins, but i wanted to keep it original-ish and still have 4 lights, so that's why i went with the single's and the GT-R style extras, as it's still Bellett derived.
just a thought for future project/s, which i know u guys have a few!

cheers, and looking forward to meeting in coona.

I remember seeing the former Isabell on ebay around the time I bought my 65 off Dave from Gold Coast (sorry no pics kept by me) and to see what you have resurected to life here is an absolute credit to your dedication and appreciation for what CAN BE. I whole heartedly agree with PR91, the colour, wheels, tyre choice and stance is perfect.

The most beautiful of Belletts I've seen to date.

I have to add my congrats too, SO nice. Is that all white upholstery? NICE. 8-)
FWIW, my preference is for the single headlight grille, it just looks more 'G.T.' to me, so I was very happy to swap my twin setup for singles. (Thanks Waldo). :)
Now I feel slack, as mine is waiting still for it's resto. Good thing I'm only young! :?:
Also looking forward to meeting you all. 28 sleeps!
Cheers & great work, Matt.

Thanks for all the positive feed back we have received for the rebuild of Isabel, it is not all going to plan and she is rebelling about being brought out of retirement,as reported when we had the exhaust fitted we found that the motor had a rattlle, so out it came and dismantled found iit had picked up on No3 conrod bearing and was light on oil supply to exhaust cam, off to engineering shop crank cleaned up,new piston and conrod. honed new rings and bearing, valve grind and head skimmed and rebuilt and fitted back into car, took it for a drive yesterday and bang she did it again, this time has picked up on no4, we had the oil pump checked while it was out first time, all good. The crank is back at engine shop and is repairable, dont know which way to jump now, running out of time for Coona and fairly expensive to keep rebuilding motors. :( :?
