Thanks Liz, in terms of what I wear, Anna's more concerned about my race suit....it's been a few years (and pies) since it was last worn in anger. It maybe a little snug , and consequently not a pretty sight....the term used was 'like a snake thats swallowed a guinea pig'. Charming.

Good stuff Barney, that's one hell of a shlep from NZ to sunny Sussex. Keep in touch, and hopefully closer to the time, we'll have a complete plan for the event and we can get together.
Meanwhile I'm off for a warm one, cheers Sticky.

Pombellett, tell me to shove off or may I make a small comment. The origanal car had a square/rectangular number section above the panel line, you have what I assume is the current standard for current legeslation for competion numbers, would it be possible to lower your outer background below the centre line of the doors to give Rollie an appearance of a lower center of gravity.

I agree Mr P Senior, those current roundels were only slapped on for the March test, and they could be doing with being a bit lower..........but we're thinking of going the whole hog (or more to the point, Polara Jim is) and doing the doors like Mac's original (see page 8 of 'Life of Rolie'). I'm not so sure, so I put it to the Forum.....
Carefully applied roundels or 1965 style, as page 8??????

i like the roundels, but if your going to be copying the origional i would be going with the 65 style blocks!

personally, if you do a replica, do it properly or it's just another race car.... so the white patches for me.
my case in point....
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1007 is the "Dick Johnson" XE Falcon i drive from time to time.
it's looks very much like the real deal, to the point of fooling most on-lookers, but it wouldn't be a replica if we (for arguements sake) put different signwriting on it, painted it a different colour, etc.
cheers, and well done mark! let us know how u get on mate.
oh and BTW..... WE WANT VIDEO of it at the revival mate!
