Re: Vale: Ken Bloor. 26/3/50 - 9/12/10.
I have been busy packing boxes and moving furniture as I have finally been given the boot from the place I've called home for the past 7yrs.
Today however I came across something a little unexpected that has grabbed my heart and made me sit down and reflect for a few precious moments on what things I hold as important and valuable in my life. It has also impressed on me the value of my extended Bellett family and remembering the 2 men who first stretched out their hands to me and said g'day and welcome, Adam & Ken Bloor.
Today while packing & sorting through papers/documents I came across a little yellow post-it note. A note handed to me by Adam just after he had first spotted my car at work. A note of few words and perhaps of little importance to many but of great significance to me. Simply saying "Please ring Ken ph...... mob...... Bellett parts available"
This little note opened up my life to a whole new extended circle of friends and family and for that I am eternally grateful say thankyou from the bottom of my heart.
Thinking of you my friend, friends & family.

beautifully said Geoff
It does make you stop and realize that we are only a small part of a much bigger picture, but until all the pieces fit together you are not complete. I tend to think of myself as a piece in the Bellet puzzle of life, and we dont need to necessarily see or touch each other to complete the puzzle.
As with the sticky note...maybe Adam thought you could do with a few things to patch up the car ??

Re: Vale: Ken Bloor. 26/3/50 - 9/12/10.
well my friends, i can't believe that a year has gone by already, but today, 9/12/2011, marks the 1st anniversary of the tragic passing of our friend and colleague, Ken Bloor, user "P.R.90".
with the blessing of Carol and the Bloor family, i'd like to thank all in our Bellett family for the kind words and thoughts over this very trying of times, but as was discussed in a previous post, we feel that with the 1st anniversary of Ken's death now upon us, the time has come to close this thread, and while the events of this last year will never be forgotten, and even more so we will never forget Ken himself, we need to move on with life in our own respects.
as a result, i'm advising that this thread will remain open until the 17/12/2011, being the 1st anniversary of Ken's funeral, which many of us attended, so if you wish to leave any last messages or thoughts for Ken, please do so before the 17th as this thread will be closed after that date.
on a personal level, Ken was a very close mate of mine over many years, and while this friendship started out via all things Bellett, it grew into a friendship shared by both our families and in aspects of life beyond cars as well.
while i knew Ken better than most, it's only since his passing that i've learnt alot more about him, some good and some not so, but i bear no ill feelings or grudges towards him as it was all these things that made up the man i was proud to call "mate".
i've also learnt about myself thru all this, and while Ken decided to take his own life when he felt he was in a very dark place with no way out, i too have had some dark times in my life, especially with the way my personal life has changed in the last year and a half as those close to me know, but as they say "every cloud has a silver lining...."
after witnessing the total and utter devistation that was left behind throughout Ken's family and friends by his passing, and the way it raised more questions as opposed to the answers it gave, it has shown me that while you may find a peace in death that you feel you can't find in life, it's those you leave behind that will never find that peace in their own lives again after you've gone, which is something that no loved one should ever have to endure....
in closing, while it may sound strange, i can never thank my good mate Ken enough for showing me a better way to live my life through his own death.
Ken, i wish you were still here, and even though more time goes by, i'll always miss you mate.
rest in peace.
cheers.
