I guess it was pretty cheap then in that condition. Shipping etc though is a bit of a killer.

Did you use an import service ?

yeah mate he can organise anything thats his full-time job over there - exporting! Its a lot easier if you find the car then he can get the ball rolling, he doesnt generally do the searching. Although he does go to isuzu japan for me to buy gasket sets and whatever else i ask him to find for me!

Hi Brett

Hope all went well with your other half.

I have looked about a bit for importers. They seem to charge around $1k to do most of the paperwork etc.

It's handy i think to have somebody in Japan too as the car may need to be stored while import approval papers come through, air con is purged, transport to docks, de-reg of the car and the like.

Finding the right car is the hardest though ! Its tough to buy something with only a few pictures to go on.

I finally got my full gasket set today from japan. And it comes with every little o-ring and gasket for the g200w so if anyone is in need of a genuine isuzu g200w gasket set just send me a pm about it...beware it is expensive. I could also see if any other gasket sets are still available in japan if you have the original part number for the kit.

Glenn.
She's doing well. Op went good and the plate and screws are nice souvenirs. Is recovering nicely.
Thanks for asking.
Jason is doing everything involved with Jap imports and has very good contacts over there. He trusts them with his own purchases and he's over there a couple of times a year too, so that's good enuf for me.
Cheers.

I'm interested in the wheels......

I thought the vents looked new too. Did you find new tail light lenses etc for it too?

Only GTR part I have here is the 'GTR' badge !

And a picture which looks like yours .....

good find then, most people have to use sedan lights.

There used to be (maybe still is) a guy in QLD who could cast new lenses from a sample. He advertised in Restored Cars mag. I think.

How long before the wheels might be available ? I'm in no hurry.
