PS: One thing I forgot to mention...my speedo has a grey face instead of black (like the tacho) and only goes up to 100mph...which makes it a sedan speedo, right?

thats ok Duane. knew you were on a tight time limit

good to hear she is improving and starting to drive like a GT should!

always another year for birthdays. they came by pretty quick now

keep an eye on that left centre bush that didnt quite sit in.
Pre-ignition shoul improve with a few more good runs. watch the oil level too
Fiat was much admired but nobody was parting with the cold cash today.

cheers

:( Re: Fiat...would love to see it back on the road again.

The mileage claims were always suspect...I told Keith I thought it had been around the clock at least once on my first visit. You know my stance on some of the claims that were made and I'm always sus on unsubstantiated low mileage claims, period.

Will look at that right middle sway bar rubber today to see if it has bed in...if it hasn't, now that the end bushes are in place, it may not be too much trouble to take it off and reposition. Touch wood. Oil is low, will top up.

I'll be on the lookout for another speedo eventually. No rush...boom tish.

Lucky I didn't get all giddy and pay huge money for the car, I have spare capital to get it up to scratch.

Thankyou! Still enjoying it every day, fingers crossed the li'l guy hangs in there. Meanwhile, I'm slowly collecting bits for a rebuild...if anyone has a spare beaver panel I'd be interested to know. Will be watching developments with your cars Stateside with interest...jealous of those fog lamps! :D

Cheers,
Duane

Rebuild done, I've officially spent more than the car is worth and that's before the planned respray! However, if it runs in nicely I'll be happy as...shouldn't need to do anything to the engine ever again (touch wood). So shiny...

As Greg said tho..... Definitely fixable and we'll worth fixing.
Donor sedan for a corner, match the sedan quarter into the existing GT quarter, tail light panel, section of the boot floor (assuming it need one), and you're back together.

If I can help with anything, sing out.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty gutted. This happened last Monday on the way home from work. I was due to take it in last Friday to have the carbies set up properly and thought I'd give it a quick run after sitting idle for 2 weeks. Coming home, waiting to turn into my street and WHACK! No brakes, nothing, 60km/h straight up the arse...car spun around 180, went up on 2 wheels and ended up on the other side of the road. Very speccy. Lucky not to hit cars coming the other way, impressed I turned into the slide whilst laying on my back...not sure I can claim it was intentional though!

I belted my head on the B pillar and wound up in the back seat...driver's seat bent completely flat, so likely saved me from nasty whiplash. Bruise on the back of one leg from the gearstick, cut on the opposite shin from kicking the steering wheel, but luckily walked out in one piece. The young guy who hit me said he just wasn't looking. At least he was honest. Our fearless leader Dave was a great shoulder to cry on (via text) that evening, Shannon's confirmed it was a write off today.

Yes, it can be fixed, but I've already spent overs on the little guy, I'm not sure if I have the time and energy to keep going on it. Maybe I'll proceed, maybe sell off whole, maybe wreck it? I dunno.

Sigh.
