There are whispers in QLD of a possible merger with the soutern convoy into Albury too :D

Ok My initial thoughts open for debate.
First off for the SA crew, are there any limitations to start off day, Wednesday, Thursday??
As to if you wanted to do it over 2 or 3 days.

2 days would be Horsham stop which breaks it into 430km and 530km (there isnt much for a viable stop closer but will keep looking so longish second day)
There is a caravan park at St Arnaud, VERY limited but 100km further on from Horsham
Another option is Swan Hill stop which would make it 510 and 430Km Aprox

3 days would be Horsham and Shepparton stops which makes it 430, 332 and 197km
Was looking at the map and thinking the meet point for the Melbourne brothers could be Shepparton (meet for lunch) and then
with the Northern brothers, maybe in Cobram (maybe for a coffee stop) for the run into Albury, Neither of which seems to be a huge detour for either.

Thoughts please :D

Swan Hill was mentioned as a possible stopover for some of us QLDers so that we could join in with the SA/Vic convoy :P
Not sure what the plan will be yet as we only have 1 fixed destination at this point in time...... Albury..... and there are so many amazing roads and country towns between here and Perth to visit on our way there

Ok wasn't sure how far you guys would want to come over.
What sort of blocks of distance do you do daily??
Swan hill wad definatley an option for us, the other thought was
to meet the Vic boys at Bendigo as to make it a longer trip
all together :-)

I personally would be pretty happy to meet anywhere..... Swan Hill, Bendigo..... where ever suits you guys mate.

Albury is approx 1500Km from here but will proberbly do more like 2000+Km getting there.
We never have any set distances to cover or even towns to stop at as we tend to just go where ever our curiosity leads us.
We set our destinations over drinks each night, then we change them over coffee in the morning, only to stop somewhere totally different for the night.
Some days it's only 250Km of winding mountain roads with plenty of sightseeing, food and icecream stops then other days its 450+Km burning of all the coffee, cake and icecreams.
That how we ROAD TRIP.
But we will definitely be in Albury and I personally would love to meet up with the southern migration somewhere...... anywhere works for me

That sounds much more plausible as ROAD TRIP. Stop over somewhere, meet and go again. However, don't know how ambitious it is, Dave seems to think we can pull it off in one day from Adelaide, 10 hours  :? But you need to factor in stops and anything else :geek: So more like 14 hours ??? Trying to get fit for the long haul, but even sounds a bit over the top for "this little black duck".

Fanged across to Daves yesterday and spent awesome time with the family. Apart from helping with some car stuff and watching the GP, we sat down and had a look at share costs for rooms at the Siesta. Best is the "bedroom suite" which has 2 single beds in 2 rooms. Turns out to about $240 per person for 3 nights. The rest are all double bed jobs :o  a little too cosy....

Sorry one day is out for me, 10 hours in a Bellett in one day would be a back breaker, and would make it almost impossible to meet up with others
Overnight in Swan Hill looks like a tentative stop and meet the Qld contingent.

Ooo Sensible!!?? rarely accused of that :D
And its a straight run to Shepparton and close to the same distance from Melbourne and Swan Hill
which would mean a lunch time meet with the Vic crew then just under a 200km run as a group to Albury.
Well this is almost looking like the start of a plan :ugeek:

I guess I picked a bad year to start working full time again didn't I
I could have easily done a few weeks in Esperance before joining the convoy :D

Get in the way of living the dream!?
Well that's not quite the case with this full time job bro. Still taking the time I want for any road trippin'
I have finally caved in to my youngest brother who has been pestering me for the past couple of years and I've started working for he's father inlaws cabinet making business he manages (Knights Quality Kitchens)
I have been doing all of their solid timber work for them for years but have now moved into running the CNC router and doing installs.
At least now I will have a steady income to start playing with my cars again, the GT bandwagon needs some serious coin spent on it.
