A Bellett Internationals?!

Now theres a nationals of the future.

Come on Pom Bell, you could set the precedent for all of us chumps.
I'll even apply for my passport this year just incase we have to come to you instead.
I've started to get crackin' on some of my antique furniture resto and resell projects and setting aside any small fry coins I have left over (gotta start somewhere) ready for the 2012 super dot to dot cruze.

I've gotta make a few running repairs on the Donkey some time this year that I have been ignoring for the past 18 months like howling rear bearings (a little grease would go a long way too) and cracked radiator top tank and might get arround to fixing the rear passenger quarter too.
Can't rush these things though.

I'd road trip anywhere anytime with you guys Greg. Laughing all the way, as long as there are some mud puddles for me to play in along the way.

Yep, LEGEND STATUS! 8-)

BTW Stickman, you do know there are grease nipples in the rear hubs for the bearings?
Just free-up the little vent cap on top of the hub, (usually caked with mud) drop a HTB cartridge in your gun. The nipple is in the underside. If you're keen, jack-up the wheel & rotate while adding the grease. Go 'till the ooze coming from the vent is less crappy.
I did this to one that was starting to rumble a while ago and it's all good still.

Cheers.
Less than 10 months to go!
Matt. :D

Cheers Matt,
I had been advised of the greazable rear some time back (possibly by you at 2010 nationals) but I'm a lazy, lazy man
I will be starting a couple of running repairs next week, ie re-brazing the radiator top tank and greazing the rear

Hi everyone

Count me in for 2012. I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone. Judging by many of the posts there will be some weird humour there

I'll also be delighted to to assist in organising a Tassie tour 2014. Rod is correct, Tassie will be having a 4 term school year by then with school holidays around the first two weeks in September - final dates yet to be published.

Sorry for not being on line for a while, my computer threw a rod at Christmas. I would love to go down under for the Nationals, I've been in touch with GT Orph about it. It does depend largely on whether I've got the necessary folding stuff.....the reason why I might not, will be on the 'life of rolie' thread in a moment,

well all, with the 2012 edition of the Nats now run and done, we look forward to 2013 and beyond.
as we know, Nats 2013 is set for Adelaide SA over the weekend of Sept 28 and 29 to coincide with the 'Bay to Birdwood Classic', and 2014 is set for a tour of Tasmania for around the end of October again.
also now, after a few discussions during a beverage or 10 towards the end of this year's Nats, it seems 2015 may be well on the way to being set too, and will see us head to yet another area of this beautiful country that we haven't visited before...
i won't say anymore at this stage as there needs to be more discussion and investigation of it all before anything is arranged, but just thought I'd at least post some info to advise that things are moving on our long term future events again so we can all plan well in advance.
cheers.

2015 nationals was mentioned last year by Brett to be held by QLDers. Since this we have spoken as a group and thrown a few ideas around on our Homewood bound trip last year. We decided and confirmed between ourselves that we would take it on and with some planning already under way. It was my job to confirm that our group will host this event.

2016:
i know it's 3 years away, but there's no harm in planning ahead.
isn't it funny how a silly idea quickly turns into more detailed discussions between a few of us, and before u know it, the idea has gained a life of it's own... and being where we've thought of, it'll take some time to organise anyway simply due to it's location so the extra time between now and then will be helpful too.
My gorgeous Kim mentioned in Adelaide to me about doing a Nationals one day. The location came about from another conversation subject that randomly came up the other day, and quickly 2 subjects were joined. Kim's background is in marketing and events, so she's far better at these things than I'll ever be.
Spoke to big Gav about the idea and he's all for it too, so we'll see what we can come up with and hopefully we're on the way for 2016!
as for the location, it'll be fair for all, should be very well received, and will celebrate a 50th anniversary for Bellett's in Australia of a different kind at the exact location it happened at all those years earlier.
stay tuned!

Hi all. Cheryl and I had idears about putting our hands up for the Nats in albury 2016 . Seems to me that you have to be earley . So 2017 sounds like the go . And we have got lots of time to plan . Hope by then I don't forget what plans we have .alzheimers  And no one pinches them . Not forgetting that I am older than the belletts . I will be 70 hope i still have a licence. Gricey
