“Big Bellett Birthday Bash”
August 17, 2014.
Celebrate 50 years of the Isuzu Bellett in Australia!

2014 is the 50th anniversary of the Isuzu Bellett first going on sale in Australia, so the BCCV, along with our brothers and sisters right around the country, are celebrating in style.

On August 21, 1964, dealers commenced sales of the Bellett in this country, so as August 17, 2014 is the closest Sunday to that exact date 50 years on, we in the BCCV, as well as the ICCA in NSW, the OSJCC in Qld and the guys and girls in SA have decided that a true, simultaneous event in each area should be held to mark the occasion.

Here in Victoria, a run of 50 km’s in length has been arranged to signify the 50 years, and with only a month to go before the event, we’re in need of responses of attendance.
We’ll be starting at 10.30am at Emerald Lake Park, and after using some fantastic roads along the journey, we will finish in Yarra Junction. This trip should take us approx an hour, but we expect it to take a little longer as we’ll stop for a few photos along the way that we can then share with the other groups around Australia via social media and the bellett.net forum so it becomes a truly interactive event.
We will also have some other clubs with various other makes and models of cars as special guests along on the day, so let’s PLEASE MAKE A HUGE EFFORT TO COME ALONG.

Yarra Junction has been chosen as our destination as the BCCV began there from Ben Barker’s vision to create a club in 1979 for all Victorian based Bellett enthusiasts to enjoy, so we feel that paying credit to the most significant event in our club’s history should be joined with the most significant event of Bellett history in Australia.
We will visit the exact location in the town that the club formed, and will also visit something in Yarra Junction that has a very important history within the town, a largely unknown significance to the BCCV, and is now serving the community in a wonderful way for its future as well.
Afterwards, we will adjourn as a group to a local hotel for lunch..... And that’s why we need RSVP’s ASAP so we can notify these venues of numbers.

RSVP IS COMPULSORY, SO PLEASE RSVP ASAP
(BEFORE AUGUST 10!!!!!!) TO BRETT ON:
0407 327 726
or
[email protected]
WITH NUMBERS OR YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

This will be the BIGGEST party in Australian Bellett history, and has taken 50 years to come around.....
So if you miss this one, you’ll be waiting another 50 years for the next.

Victoria:
Local radio station Yarra Valley FM 99.1 do a segment each Friday at noon about what's on in and around the valley
Special guests this week are Bob, President of Ben's Shed and myself as BCCV / Bellett rep to chat about the run on Sunday, the 50 years of Aussie Bellett's, the club itself and Ben's involvement, and the work the shed now does, especially with school kids.
Tune in if u can.
If you're outside the broadcast area, log on to:
yarravalleyfm.com
for the live stream.
It should be fun.
Cheers.
